Pull their state funding immediately. Do not reinstate it until 90 days after the chapter is approved and terminations are completed.

How inclusive of them

One of the worst things on a college campus is the Student Government Association.
I’m all for students having a voice, but these SGA’s get taken over by liberal try hards who then use the SGA to push their own agenda.

Republicans are such weak cowards
These people are easy to deal with, we can wield power. This is a state funded college, I’m sure there are Gay rights and pride groups on campus.
Just take their money, and they will shut their mouth and comply

SGA on college campuses used to produce leaders.
Now, its a bunch of theatre kids and militant leftists that win seats because most students don't vote. On my campus, student turnout for SGA elections was 9 percent.
The joke is that they don't matter, and while that is mostly true, university charters give them enough power to do a few things that do matter - like this.

I get it's just a quick tweet, but it'd be helpful if they mentioned which groups are allowed and are already active on campus. It’s a big difference between saying no to all special interest groups vs just excluding this one.

Correct. If they are avoiding the shark altogether and not allowing political organizations/special interest groups from becoming official on campus there is no problem. If you're excluding Conservative orgs only there's an issue.

They will bend the knee. Red, conservative State. Whoever denied it, will probably lose their job.

Pathetic. I’m sure the libs are proud of themselves.

There's over 150 registered student organizations. LINK
There's the Adventist Christian Organization, the Center for Women and Gender Equity, and the the Feminist Action Movement.
So they're willing to host Christian organizations, DEI-focused groups, and politically active groups.

Is Chattanooga turning all artsy and progressive?
Last couple times we were there, I was sort of getting that vibe. The aquarium is awesome though.

The ADF will embarrass them before the Supreme Court soon enough should it make it that far. My guess is the lower courts will save them the trouble.

One of the worst things to ever happen to this country was the "no bully" campaign.

I agree. Bring bullying back & shut these weaklings up.

So in a cursory look, they don't have anything too bad.
Democratic socialists
One gay club only that I saw
The rest are sports and a few sprinkled like black women in medicine.

The ability of student government associations to engage in censorship or viewpoint discrimination has been litigated quite a few times. Universities often grant to SGAs decision-making authority for selecting groups to be recognized or to receive funding. Fine. But when SGAs violate free expression rights or engage in viewpoint discrimination, they are acting as an agent of the university. UT-Chattanooga is a public university, and the SGA is an agent of the university, so it is vulnerable to legal action for the discriminatory actions of the SGA.
Most universities are aware of this, and so when the SGA behaves in an illegal manner universities will usually step in and "correct" the mistake made by the SGA. Hopefully UTC will realize that it is in legal jeopardy and correct the egregious error of the SGA. And, of course, the university is vulnerable on the basis of negative funding decisions that the state of Tennessee might impose.
