I was looking for a recommendation on a guide for redfish and/or trout fishing trip sometime next week. I will be in the Larose area for work. How's the bite this time of year? Thanks

My recommendation is go to Venice

This isn’t the best time of the year to target trout around GI. The trout will be in transition to the marshes. I’m not saying you can’t get on them but trips can be very inconsistent when compared to summer, spring, and even winter trips.

This. Venice much more consistent this time of year. Reds are in all the passes and river. Weekend before last trout were on the edge of the gulf at the passes. This cool weather and the river getting back below 3' should push them in.

Southern Angler- Austin Rivault
Geaux Fishing- Trampus Wagoner
Both of those guys (Southern Angler has a few boats)- are out of Grand Isle Marina and have slips near me- they always catch fish and are good dudes.

This time last year we caught some big specks on plastics working our favorite grass bank.
Been out here since about 4pm yesterday, and we haven’t hooked a single speck fishing last night and this morning. Caught several really nice flounders, and probably about two dozen white trouts under the light last night, throwing every single one back. Probably 6-7 inches every one.
The wind has been heck straight out the East.

Following this as we have a group of 7-8 heading down next week and possibly looking at chartering 2 boats. Let me know what you did and who you went with. Thanks!
