Through 5 games, Rattler has a QB rating of 90.4. That is considered barely in the above average range. Regardless of opinions on Rattler, getting that level of QB play on a rebuilding team is terrific. I was bracing for a full season of Ian Book or Trevor Seimien level QB performance.
The question I have is do you think:
1. This is a product of Kellen Moore/Nussmeier system getting the most out of him. If they have a more talented QB, then the sky is the limit bc they know what they are doing w QB’s.
2. This is Rattler’s absolute ceiling and he will be well below 90 by the end of the season.
3. Rattler is still young and has room to grow into a consistent 100+ QB rating.

4. Rattler has improved, no way of determining what his ceiling is in 5 games of a new system but at some point you have to see what you have in your other QB you drafted in the 2nd round.

Rattler looks great for a 5th round pick. He has arm talent and play making ability. The game still needs to slow down for him but he's been better than expected.

Moore will squeeze everything he can out of each lemon. QBs and Coordinators are like lives for a new head coach. You only get so many

Rattler is exactly what you want your backup qb to look like

Not bad figuring we played the hardest part of our schedule against pretty good teams.

I think he has reached the 'I can play in this league' stage as well. His play has improved its just a matter of how much further can he take it. Until he stumbles #2 and #3 will just be watching.

I think we keep Rattler starting through week 9. Give him a chance for a win against NE/ CHI and then pull him when he losses b2b against TB/ LAR.

It would still give Shough (7) games to start which is the same as Rattler last year and the remaining schedule after week 9 has about a .300 record.

Give Seaux time.

Its almost time we see what we have in Seaux.
Love waited 3 years behind Rogers.
Rogers waited 3 years behind Farve.
Mahomes waited 1 year behind smith
Brady waited 9 games behind bledso
Brees waited 1 year behind flutie

All of these great QBs werent just thrown right into the fire.
And They wall won superbowls.

Give Rattler a couple competent guards, a #1 WR, and a good TE, and he would be considered a quality starting QB in this league.

Yeah I’d be curious to see how Rattler would play if you plugged him in an offense like Tampa or something

everyone here (which is about 90% currently) will be greatly disappointed when this doesn't happen barring any type of injury. lol

Tyler will for sure get in when we are mathematically out of the playoffs. But if Ratt keeps improving that might take longer than expected. Till then its "Ratt sucks, wasted a 2nd round pick, fire Loomis and just sell the team" lol

Why did we waste $10M on Cooks who has like 2 catches or a 4th on Vele?

I don’t know what to tell you. If the Giants don’t commit 5TOs, Saints are 0-5.
I don’t care what Rattled’s ratings are. He misses open receivers, rarely throws down field, and consistently throws 7-8 yards behind the sticks on 3rd and long. Playing this style isn’t easy, but it also does not indicate he is anything more than a 2nd if not 3rd stringer.
Ian Book and the other tomato can you mentioned didn’t even belong in the league.
Can Rattled improve? Maybe, but I don’t think much by the way they are using him. Some here have referred to him as a game manager. I think that is what he’s been told to do.
I think he can play in the league as a backup. Only on a team as terrible as this is he a starter.

I don't understand why most don't see the same. Also don't understand the Shough hate when the kid hasn't had a chance yet.

Unfortunately, with Shough what you have is a 27 year old who habitually throws off of his back foot.
I don’t think you can fix that.

And Rattler beat him in the preseason. For an incoming rookie with like 7 years experience, there was not an easier path to starting in the NFL than beating Rattler and he could not.
We don’t owe him anything more- just chalk it as an L if Rattler continues to improve.

He’s already improved. He hasn’t even played a full season of games yet

7 games in 2024

Completion% - 57%
YPG - 188
TD% - 1.8%
INT - 2.2%
Rating- 70.4
QBR - 37.1
Sack% - 8.8%

5 games in 2025

Completion% - 67.2
YPG - 188
TD% - 3.4%
INT% - 0.6%
Rating - 90.4
QBR - 57.5
Sack% - 4.8%

It can be debated if he’s good enough to be a starter. But he has unquestionably vastly improved across all areas from 2024 to 2025. Moore isn’t going to just bench a young QB who is showing marked improvement. If Shough showed this type of growth folks would be jizzing them self
