Dead artists with a lot of unreleased recordings

Spin off from the Waylon Jennings thread:
When both Michael Jackson and Prince died, they supposedly had hundreds of songs recorded that the family was going to release over time.
I haven’t seen anything. Perhaps there’s been a song or two I missed. But I don’t think so.
Eddie Van Halen also supposedly has a huge store of music.
There’s has been talk of Alex Van Halen and Steve Lukathor finishing some of it, but again- nothing.
Wolfgang Van Halen seems stubborn to a fault about not playing, recording or releasing any of his dad’s music. He won’t even play a single Van Halen song live. He’s only done it a few times, most recently at a Taylor Hawkins tribute with the Foo Fighters.
Of course when you are the only heir of a $100 million plus estate, you can take the high road. Purity is expensive and he can afford it.
Wolf has been accused of releasing Eddie’s music as his own on Mammoth albums.
Mammoth mostly sucks, so not sure I believe it.

Bob Dylan likely has several albums worth of unreleased original material, most of it is probably really good. It’s amazing how prolific some songwriters are.

Tupac released 10 albums after he died

Not quite the same, but I'm so sick of the found tapes for the Beatles. Yes, you recorded Paul's bad takes or playing the guitar on the toilet. That doesn't mean SXM needs to play that shite on Classic Vinyl. Save that shite for the Beatles channel.

If there was anything good from Eddie, you'd think they would have used some of it for ADKoT. Most of that album was rehashed demos.

What? You missed a lot.

Huge VH fan…just want to get that out there before I say this so it won’t sound like I’m a hater. But Eddie and Alex were/are such liars that I have a hard time believing anything either of them ever said about all these hours of music they supposedly had “ready to go” and it was always “insert singer here”’s fault that it went unrecorded. Certainly there may be stuff out there that could be salvaged into something but I’m not believing it to the extent they used to talk about.

Wow.
Like I said, perhaps I missed it and I guess I did.
Were these released with any hype? Are they any good?

Supposedly Prince has enough recorded and unreleased material to fill several albums for years.
All owned by his estate and the record labels can't touch it. He was really one of the smartest musician business wise, and damn talented too.

I caught them because Spotify highlights stuff like this. Some really good newly released material and a lot of stuff they didn't need as is the case with most of these posthumous releases. I think I found like three good songs on that vast Springsteen release of new material recently.

Elvis
I just recently read that Priscilla is somehow in control of this portion of his catalog. She's going to cash in big.

Conway Twitty reportedly had maybe an album or two worth of unreleased material from the 60s. Speculation was that it was lost in the Universal Studios back lot fire, but recently the list of impacted artists has shrunk to around 20 or so.
