Are Cities Like Portland & Seattle the Embodiment of the Failure Of Woke Culture?

Imo, it's impossible not to see it. Two of the "wokest" cities in America, and they're both basically imploding. A Republican couldn't get elected there to save his or her life, and Heaven help any MAGA people who are forced by circumstances to live in either one of those hell holes.
I'm not sure exactly what happened to these cities, but they seem to have slid into the abyss in the past couple of decades. I wouldn't live in either place even if they paid me.
Democrat Party + Woke Culture = Hell on Earth

There are many other examples. One problem is that the residents who voted these crap policies into being aren't forced to stay there to see them through. They flee to better places and infect those places with their cancerous ideals, never questioning their position.

Does a bear shite in the woods?
San Fran, NYC, NOLA, Chicagostan, etc. All run by far leftist.

It’s also the embodiment of the left’s immature inability to admit they’re wrong and make changes.
And that goes for the voters and politicians.

Such a waste since they at one time were wonderful places to be. How blind or how much the leaders are compensated for these policies? Hope their families are impacted the same way they have impacted others.

I have friends that moved out to Portlandia. They are in total denial mode. Claim that nothing bad is happening and that it’s all fake news and OMB.

West coast leftists aren’t even in the same league as southern leftists/democrats.
They’re truly unhinged. It’s unsettling when you’re out there and you witness it.

There were a lot of communes in the 60s and 70s in Oregon, I think many of those people ended up in Seattle and Portland.
The WTO protests in 99 attracted a boat load of "anarchists" who never left.

This has to be killing the river and ocean cruise business that sails out of those two cities.

Sibling was in denial having lived in Portland for 10 years....when she couldn't leave her downtown apartment at night because of craziness and no Cops, she fled to Boise 2 years ago and couldn't be happier.

Hopefully, there will be one of these type cities somewhere who turns things around and can serve as a model and a message to the rest of 'here's how it can be done.'

I’m not sure about Portland, SF and Seattle, however i dunno if all west coasters are in denial necessarily.
Anecdote, so take for what it’s worth, but I was just in L.A., the place was insanely clean just about everywhere, even downtown. Other than south of downtown, which has ALWAYS been rough, the entire place was immaculate. 90% of downtown was flawless.
Yet all I read for the last few years is how it’s falling apart.

You should’ve seen LA during the pandemic. But the further north up the west coast you go the loonier it gets.

I lived in L.A. during the first half of the pandemic. All I noticed was fewer cars on the road, but I didn’t go out much then, so you may know more, not sure how time much you spent out there.
I’m sure it does get loonier, I’m just skeptical of the coverage and what’s said about it — here in Nashville people poke fun at the west coast imploding, but L.A. destroys boring, devoid-of-character, ugly arse Nashville. Honestly I don’t know if any city I’ve been to the last few years can beat L.A. the way it is now.
Which makes me skeptical what I read about SF and such.

Go to the root.
WEST CAPT It’s the closest geographical region to CHYYYNA
They have been playing the long game for many decades. That region I’m specific is at the top of regions of the country to spend some time.
Gig Harbor
Oceanside
Astoria
The more I think about my time in the PACNW, makes me sad to see what they have done to our country, time to rake it back!!!

Then you have experienced a miracle. I travel to LA once a quarter and make calls throughout the city. It is a shithole.

They are like old Democrat cities of yesteryear that used to allow the Klan to do wtfever they wanted.
