And say, this could have been our year. We had all the pieces in place to make a run .

We don't have the OL.

Most of us expected that to be our weak point, but damn they're terrible.

And Nuss clearly hurt and not playing like himself.

So the pieces aren't all necessarily there, like say a 2006 team.

Nothing has really changed since Clemson

We have one of the best rosters in the country if our OL could just run block & our QB quit playing like shite.

Optimism is not welcome here, but we are right back in it if we get to 7-1

Everything will be fine. Plenty of time to get right.

I called this excuse last year. Next year will be "we're breaking in a new quarterback and receivers".

All the pieces were there in 2006. We got screwed by the refs in the Auburn game and committed too many penalties on the road against a really good Florida team.

Would love to know the outcome of a 12 team playoff in 2006

And then next after that maybe it’ll be “And now I introduce to you the new LSU head football coach”

So is Miami & Oregon. Easier to replace that with the portal

There’s a difference in excuses and reasons. Our OL this year is objectively horrendous (thus far). That’s a major reason we lost at Ole Miss.

I’m not excusing anything.

No. When we had an absolute freak at QB a couple years back and could not play a lick of defense was the one you look back to and wonder .

Except for one important piece- a good offensive line.
I remember some Les Miles years when I felt that we had all the pieces in place except for a quarterback.

Yep. I think we all thought if they could just be average, we might be a playoff team. Well, they are way worse than average.

Most LSU fans will look back at this year as the year they finally started realizing that Kelly is never going to have the LSU Football program where they want it.

Yeah but most of us thought after a few games they’d gel and at worst be serviceable.

True but what have you seen from the offense that gives you optimism?
