It came from a Pete Thamel parody account. My sincere apologies to all.
I’m 83, and I’ve been a member of this forum since 2009, and a LSU Tiger fan since I was maybe 8 or 9 listening to Tiger sports on my small portable radio.
Some of my greatest sports memories were watching great football, basketball and baseball games across these many decades, including the 2019 National Championship game.
I was privileged to meet Billy Cannon and Bob Pettit who were heroes of my youth.
I joined Tigerdroppings for a sole purpose—to glean all the information possible about LSU sports. I know that not everything here is accurate, but I find that most times I get to the truth, and I’m okay with that.
I have observed that some on the board are not very forgiving of the mistakes of older members. Today was my time in the barrel for target practice by those who were offended by my error. I certainly intend to be more careful.
I work every day to improve my technical skills as I am aware of my shortfalls.

The best way to prevent getting duped like that in the future is looking for confirmation from additional sources. Previously, you could look for blue check mark to verify the person, but that is no longer 100% accurate. So now you should just realize that once one person gets the scoop - several others will follow VERY quickly. Look to see if multiple reporters you follow are reporting the news.
Dont try to be the first to break the news on TD. Nobody cares about getting upvotes - these interweb points dont count for anything.

Just kidding, I came here for the same reasons you did and all I think I know right now is that the torn oblique was a false rumor. But I'll keep checking back.
