Brad Davis is a great recruiter but his Offensive lines can’t run block, get manhandled and we don’t see any player improvement Thru coaching.

Maybe the current TE coach (hired earlier from Florida State)….. known as a very good OL Coach… can be a seamless replacement for Davis !!

They should swap Sloan and Davis for the next couple of weeks. Shake things up a bit.

I’m seriously puzzled at what was looked at during the offseason that led to the decision to keep him. I mean having shitty results with 4 NFL draft picks should have made the decision easy.

Since Pittman was fired can we hire him to the staff as an analyst to get the OL together or fire BD?

Someone questioned your great recruiter statement and they may be right. I went back since he has been OL coach and his recruiting is "decent" for sure but not great IMO. Setting that aside, in the last very few years, LSU has signed Thomas (guess he is hurt), Curne, W Davis, Echols, Chester, and Adams who were all rated to be good/very good and the offers back the rating up. So now we move to your point...I see No /0 /NADA player improvement and the OL results have been pitiful. I don't like to just complain so here is my solution.

Brad Davis is not at LSU next season...fire him. And bring in someone who has played in the NFL along the OL. I'm not saying LSU could bet Mawae or Faneca but get someone who knows how to improve players via better technique and understanding of the game. I noticed Brad Davis never played in the NFL. Finally, I find it interesting that 4 LSU OL got drafted in the last draft yet that OL was no better than this one...at least run blocking. That points to COACHING, not a lack of talent.

Recruiting is NOT the issue across the OL.

You are correct in stating that recruiting is not the issue… as I said, Davis is a good recruiter.

What I do NOT see from him is grooming and improving offensive linemen.
Must not be a good teacher !!

Atkins is already on staff and known as a good OL coach… or there may be others to interview.

But… Get Someone Else as Davis has our OL as the Biggest Joke in College Football

Brad Davis recruits based on stars and has no clue how to evaluate talent. I've heard him say to recruits that he isn't a recruiter and he isn't here to kiss anyones arse. He thinks that the LSU brand sells itself and that we have 5 star linemen lined up waiting to come here. He tries to make the recurits feel special just because they are even in the same room as him, at such an elite school and that if they don't appreciate that, they can see the door because he has 10 more 5 stars lined up who want to be here.

I posted about 2 weeks before the season started when LSU announced that they were moving players around the OL and commented that we shouldn't be still trying to figure out personnel on the OL that close to the start of the season and that it was because our OL was terrible. I believe that comment is my PR for the most down votes ever.

I also posted after the spring game that our OL sucked and BD was freaking out at how awful they looked. BD realized he had a bunch of big boys who can't move and don't know what the frick they are doing.

That NFL line last year was not recruited by BD, he inherited that or transfered them in. People might think he is doing a good job recruiting but is he really? Because if he is, then that makes him even more of a terrible coach because he would be making elite players look like dog shite. Personally, I think its both.

Why?

Why do people keep saying this?

What makes him a great recruiter?

I'm not a fan of Sloan, but I think that the changes need to start with Davis being shown the door. I am honestly a bit disappointed that it hasn't happened already. Had a small hope that BK would pull the trigger at the beginning of the bye week. We have seen all we need to see and more from Davis and none of it is good.
