Can someone do analysis on Sloan’s route combos on pass plays and compare them to an OC with success like Kiffin or even Lebby at State?

I feel like they’re all long developing routes with no zone or man beaters.

I'm glad you posted this topic. We either all run to the same zone or depth. There is little mixing.

For instance there is many times 2-3 receivers in the area where the ball is thrown. Barely any of the deep drags that are so hard to cover or forcing a safety to chose post or go.

It's the defenses best friend when multiple receivers are close together.

Mix it up. Inside slant with a drag behind it with a post go combo backside. Make them cover the entire field.

Oh wait, we don't have the line to block for that route scheme. Smh.

Watch the All 22, you’d be surprised how many guys Sloan actually schemes open that Nuss simply doesn’t see. We’ve had multiple guys running wide open in every single game this season that nuss doesn’t see. It’s on pretty much every play also. I’m not saying Sloan is good but Nuss is problem number 1 right now

I think Sloan sucks, but largely due to the running game being completely nonexistent.

I saw a lot of open receivers on Saturday that Nuss didn't even register before throwing a bad pass to someone else.

The have the entire game film from OM game to analyze. If they do and don't learn something about why successful plays are successful, then they are idiots stealing from LSU. Learn and inplement plays that have actually been known to work instead of constantly running the same plays that never work.

I gotta disagree here man. I was playing College Football 26 and whenever I lineup in trips I audible all 3 receivers to an in route 10-15 yards deep. Like half the time I come pretty close to a catch. Its gotta be in execution

Then shouldn’t the somewhat capable looking backup get some meaningful reps?

Receivers aren’t being taught to come back towards qb on tight coverage to break away

A lot of room for improvement

I don’t think Sloan is qualified to be LSU’s OC, but on the INT we had Sharp WIDE open for the 1st down. Right in front of the QB. On a silver platter. Nothing else an OC can do there.

So CFB26 isn’t real football and I think you’re talking about a basic levels concept

Our receivers are horribly coached. Rounding off corners running half speed.

The TEs in particular aren’t running crisp routes.

Anderson = Elite
The other starters run good routes.

The TEs are drifting all over

Nope, not levels. Hot route everyone to the exact same route. Telling you, there's nothing wrong with Sloan's philosophy its obviously all Nuss

Sloan’s Route Combos

Its not the routes themselves. Its their spacing, synching, depth, and timing. Meaning when running all verticals (4-go routes) you do not want to run into or around a fellow receiver. Against Cover 2, man, Cover 3, cover 4, etc. the routes are going to be run differently. Against Cover 2 the inside receiver want to turn their head as soon as they cross the hook/curl defender typically could be 8-10 yds. Against man its going to be deeper because you have a defender on your hip.

We had a whip, Post, Dig being run on a 3 receiver side. We want to space those routes at a depth to create proper spacing to not have another defender encroach into the other receivers route. We ran a dig at 17 yds with a break on a post at 18. That is terrible spacing. You typically have a dig 10-12 yds if you have a post behind it. If you have the outside receiver running a clear (fade/go route) then you can take the dig 12-15 yds depending on the coverage underneath.

We had another play where we ran a curl against drop 8 coverage with a shell (2-high safety) variation of Cover 2 with 5 players underneath and 1 player playing man to the single receiver side. Our tight end ran a curl at 8 yds and faded it off by drifting. The sticks were at 6 yds. He should have hard planted at 7 and come back to Nuss to make himself open. Instead he drifted which made it impossible to throw the football.

Idk what we are coaching but its terribly coached.
