He wears number 6. This means that he has 9 watching him. (As he sees his shoulder numbers). He throws better balls and that is what stops us from scoring.

IMO give Rattler one more week

Giants DL is probably the best in the league and they will eat Penning/Ruiz/Simpkins alive

Nah. Rattler should get 8 games.

And you know this how? If he throws 4 picks in his first game are you going to make excuses?

Nature of being a fan of a losing team.

This coaching staff will get a long look at Shough this season but they will not throw him in until they think he's ready to weather the storm.

I realistically could see them waiting to make the change at after the bye week.

They leaves
7 games vs a good mix of equal sucky teams and divisional opponents.

The bad news is it gives Rattler 6 more games until we get to see Shough.

We are retarded for wanting to see the QB we drafted in the second round over a game manager averaging 8 yards per completion? Especially considering the fact we may draft another QB next year, wouldn’t you like to know what you have in Shough?

Yes considering that Shough wouldn't have won a single game yet.

Spencer Rattler with 2 minutes to go in the game had 111 yards passing.

He does not drive the ball downfield.

He doesn’t do it now. He didn’t do it in college. His yards per play then and now are sad.

He is a high level backup QB

That's fine but Shough would not have won a single game yet. Either way we are 0-4

Was Rattler the reason the Saints lost yesterday?

No. And he's not the reason we lost the last 3 either.

So what? Who said anything about wins?

Every game wasted on a future career backup is a game wasted not playing your 2nd round pick

Then no need to start Shough if it's not about wins.

The Bye week was always the logical place. It gives both QB's ample season to be evaluated. It gives Shough extra practice reps with the 1's.

I thought week 5 was a possibility before the season, but Rattler has earned the rest of the season to the bye through not totally sucking and showing that he probably has a 10-15 year career as a backup for 5-6 teams. He'll be just fine.

He puts up Jordan Jefferson stat lines.

You are blinded by how basically competent and calm he is.

People expect Keystone Cops with young QBs and to his credit, he is not that at all. He is cool and calm, gets the team in and out of the huddle, doesn't turn it over a lot, etc. Fans see that and think "wow he is pretty good"

But he doesn't do any of the things that actually leads to winning. He doesn't push the ball down field. He doesn't take any chances. He crumbles in the redzone. He never leads WRs or throws back shoulder in the right situations.

He was exactly the same in college.

Rattler is basically competent, but nothing beyond that, a high level backup

I don't care about wins. I don't care about wins with Shough either.

There’s no saving this season, so there’s no point in rushing him out there before he’s ready.
