The only "canned" beets I eat are the ones I put up myself since I grow beets in my garden.
I will put them up in Mason jars in a salty brine and also use them steamed or even baked in the oven freshly dug up from the garden.
Eating a healthy serving of fresh beets can be a little unnerving for some folks when they hit the can to pee and they pee dark pink or take a dump and it looks like your guts are rotting with all the red in the commode.
But no-----no store bought canned beets for me.

I used to love them with sliced onions, then got old and diabetes, might as well eat an Elmer's Pecan Egg.

I like taking sliced, canned beets, putting them in mason jars w/sliced onions, serranos, garlic, & vinegar. Put them in the fridge for a couple weeks then eat them…

Plenty of them don’t have high fructose corn syrup in them. Del Monte doesn’t. Just like anything else-you have to read the ingredients.
I grow them as well and will eat them any time in anyway and I like canned beets too.
A good roasted (or canned) beet hummus is pretty damn good.

Heated with a little butter, tabasco and soy. Not terrible, but just can't get in to them. Trying to like them for the B vitamins.

Even fresh beets are high in sugar, a lot of the world uses beet sugar if cane sugar is not available.

Oh yeah. I was just referring to high fructose corn syrup really.
A nice roasted beet warm with a bit of sea salt is hard to beat. Maybe a little drizzle of Greek yogurt.

Grew up eating the canned slices served with vinegar poured over them.
Saw some in Piccadilly recently, just like that, and couldn’t resist. They were great.

Ate them all the time growing up in Northern Michigan (area with a lot of Polish people). Family canned them; opened a jar up cut up and cook in butter as a dinner side.
