It all goes back to poor OL play and no run game

You help out a struggling/injured/whatever the frick is wrong with Nuss QB with balanced play calling featuring a run game. However the OL cant move anyone (see last week vs SeLa) and we can’t establish the run. We aren’t physical. BK’s teams here just aren’t physical (see 3rd and less than 1).
If we can’t run, our out of sorts QB now has to throw too much. Sloan also has a terrible feel for the game and doesn’t know what he’s doing. He draws up some nice looking stuff but there’s never a rhythm or purpose. Did I mention we can’t run?
Because of our OL and run game i was extremely wary of this offense coming into the year but never ever expected everything to be this bad. Nuss aint right, he’s making terrible decisions too often and we can’t help him.

But why? We had 4 NFL draftees and 2 top picks last year but had the same problems. Is that the Oline personnel or is it schematic? I agree it is the basis of all our issues but why?

It’s actually jaw dropping how bad every single unit on offense is right now.
Personally I don’t think Kelly was unaware, but he already had to replace the entire defensive staff the previous year. Feels like he was gambling on continuity.
Would anyone miss Hankton, Atkins, Davis, or SLOWn if they’re fired tomorrow? You keep Frank Wilson for politics and call it day.

Im always skeptical of our OL and our run game has been shite for years outside JD and CEH’s spin move.

Exactly. No one is going on the road against a good team and beating them with 50 something rushing yards. And yes Nuss didn’t play good but it’s ridiculous to say it’s all on him

We cant throw deep because Nuss has a faulty noodle arm
We cant run because the blocking in shite
So all weve got is slants and crossers underneath but even those are iffy because you dont know if Nuss is going to air mail one that gets a receiver killed or gets picked in triple coverage. Or if the line will get bullied by a 3 man rush and cause Nuss to freak out and do something stupid.

Also well said on the rhythm. Was talking with my Ole Miss friends about the gameplay and flow of the game for LSU being so incoherent and unorganized. I hate the comparison but reminds me of the Miles days not even being able to relay a fricking play to the field

Will Campbell was soft as baby shite in the running game last year but he’s fine in the NFL this season.

- Oline isn’t coached well
- Offensive design doesn’t allow you to block the box
- Play Calling is as bad as I’ve ever seen (and I witnessed Carl Smith of the New Orleans Saints)

That int today was so bad. He had Sharp wide open over the middle for a first down.

Don't get me wrong. Joe Sloan is in no way a P4 offensive coordinator but an offensive line coach who cannot teach a single player how to properly run block is a remarkable liability.

What pissed me off so much today was the screen game worked every time save once. We got 7-8 yards anytime we ran it and should’ve popped 2-3. That should’ve told us they were weak on the edges, you should’ve seen jets, more screens and some outside runs. We got none of that and even the screens weren’t leaned into to force OM to adjust or account for it. That’s brain dead play calling.

No. Ol and running game doesn’t make a 5th year qb underthtow wide open receivers constantly. Or throw two yards to the wrong shoulder on a fade. Or throw line drives to thr 6’7” te.

What’s even crazier is that we were told Alex Atkins was not a problem at Florida State and was going to really assist Davis which had me excited. Turns out two idiots combined aren’t enough brainpower to fix our blocking woes.
Honestly everything about our offense is such a disaster that it’s genuinely a blur as to whether it’s Slown, Nuss, the scheme, the blocking, etc. everything makes you want to turn the tv off and enjoy life until Kelly is gone.

It's possible that Atkins is not such an idiot. The best way to find out is to remove Davis from the equation immediately.
