Any other lingerers out there still holding out hope for a return to the "Oilers" moniker?

Yes. They need to relinquish said rights.

It would be cool and I think the Bud Adam's family will probably honor Pappies frick you to houston. But the grandkids may be less emotionly involved so that they would sell the name back to Houston.

Best case is Titans get new owners.

Kind of like when we gave Charlotte the Hornets back.

I dgaf about the Texans. But the Oilers would explode in popularity. Lots of merch would be sold.

It is criminal that the Houston Oilers aren’t dripping in those pimp powder blue unis weekly. Billionaires have to throw fits and remain petty when cities won’t give them free public money for stadia.

It is the most hilarious display of little man’s disease that they wear those uniforms when playing Houston.

While this wouldn’t be exactly the same, I still don’t understand why the Texans didn’t simply change the blue in their current uniform from navy to powder. The Adams family can’t monopolize a color. Other teams have shades of light blue…Chargers, Lions, Panthers.

Instead they changed it to an even darker blue that looks black on tv.

In retrospect, why did Adams move his franchise from the 4th largest city in the country to Nashville? More ad dollars? I don't think so. A better stadium, nope to that. That just leaves greed and ego and both are possible.

When Mauck had his short HC time in Nashville, karma reached out and said no way, no how.

I haven’t researched this at all, but were there naming issues when Houston decided to become the Texans considering the previous NFL Texans team? I’m assuming that since they went belly up as a franchise the naming rights just went back to the universe.

The old AFL Texans didn't go belly up. They changed their name to the Chiefs when they moved to Kansas City.

But that actually makes your question a valid one. I wonder if the Hunt family had to okay that or get some compensation for it.

Bud Adams was an arse there's no question but he left over a stadium or at least over him feeling the city of Houston wasn't paying enough of a share for it. I think the Nashville move has worked out pretty well for him and his family

As someone else said the best case would be for the Titans to get new ownership so we could get out of this clown show then the new owners prolly wouldn't give a shite about giving Houston back the Oilers stuff
