This GM is stealing money. Keeps clinging to washed vets, whiffs on draft picks, and signs mediocrity like Carr instead of chasing real talent. Fans see it, but the guy paid millions can’t. He’s dragging this franchise into NFL purgatory.

Working overnight so bored, sorry for rant!

Some of us called for Baker when Carolina cut him. He was cheap af.

But the majority here (I could name names) said Andy Dalton was a better player, which may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard any fool say. Ever.

Feel free to numb the threads for a good laugh.

This thread has come up multiple times and the general consensus is we’d still be in purgatory.

Dennis Allen wasn’t taking this team anywhere with Carr, baker, Daniel Jones, darnold, etc.

I know this year sucks but for the long term good of the team the current rebuild is the best approach. Get rid of bad coaches, bad contracts, and a bad roster because you’re trying to scrape together a contender.

No QB is winning with this team. Baker has three great WRs (when healthy) a great running game, a good OL and good TE. He’d be terrible with this team and you’d be saying, “I really wanted ___________” last year. This team is bad and Prime Brees or Prime Brady couldn’t win with this offense.

Not to mention how terrible Dennis Allen is as a coach!

Was calling for Baker when he was cheap instead of Carr. He has that dawg in him.

I know plenty of people said Dalton was better ham Winston. I still stand by that.

I wanted the cheapest qb we could find to start after Brees. Only way to get out of this cap hell Loomis put us in. I mentioned Baker and a few other QBs like Bridgewater and Minshew.

At least we held the course and doing it with Rattler this year. Can’t remember one person wanting Danny dimes this offseason.

Easy to say via hindsight. Do you have documentation of this prescience, or are we just expected to take your word that you're an undercover Howie Roseman?

Both of those guys hung around long enough (thanks to their draft pedigree) that they were able to learn the nfl game and ended up with “qb whisperer” type guys. Had either ended up with our past regime not sure it works out the same way (although I do think Baker is really talented and actually showed glimpses early on but had a carousel of OCs on a shitty org).

I hope KM can end up a Steichen level coach.

It's become the Tom Dempsey kick.
Everyone was there.

Hmm, looks like OP was defending Carr there and implying your post was BS

Victory title:
quote:

Would you rather Baker Mayfield or Derek Carr?

OP's response
quote:

Seriously…Carr woulda had an even more impressive game if it wasn’t for Penning letting Lawrence Taylor do whatever he wanted for the first 30 minutes

So, he would have been the same QB as he was in Clev

I was wrong about Baker, but at the same time I doubt we see this type of resurgence in his career had they gone the Baker route instead of Carr.

I still think Carr is a decent qb. If Sean Payton was our coach and not Allen, I don’t think we’d be bitching about this right now to be honest.

He got us to .500 last year in games he started with the same shite roster we have today. Maybe worse to be honest. That’s pretty impressive.

That being said, for years I’ve said to go cheap at qb. Only way to get us out of this cap mess Loomis put us in. And years later, I’ve been proven right.

This is Daniel Jones’ 8th season, he was a “washed vet”. That said, Jones is an FA next year heading into his age 29 season. You can still get him but idk that he fits the timeline

You can sign a Trey Lance, Malik Willis or Zach Wilson next year too if you want to go that route

This is your "reciept" from that thread?
quote:

I mean at least mayfield has a playoff win. And maybe we could afford some more o lineman

That's it? Hardly a ringing endorsement 6 months after we signed Carr and after the season started. Don't give yourself too much credit, Nostradamus. And what's with the comments you went back and deleted from that thread?
This was a really sad flex.

ETA: Not to mention I was talking to OP who's in that thread defending Derek Carr!

I didn’t call for Dalton, but he would be quite a few steps over Rattled.

Case in point - Geno Smith. Revitalized his career in Seattle, comeback player of the year, traded, new contract, now he looks like dog shite in Vegas. QBs have to be in the right situation to flourish.

Lol. His last game, he had a 132 qb rating and threw for 3tds and zero ints.

The home opener, he had over a 100 qb rating and threw for over 350 yards. He was bad against the chargers defense tho.

2 of 3 games with over a 100 qb rating is dogshite now lol?
