With Van Buren clearly the next man up, how long before Hurley exits?

Van Buren looked really good Saturday, but the downside is that means Hurley is most likely going to hit the portal. If you look at Hurley's tape, the kid was very impressive. The most impressive thing about him is he arrived at LSU at the age of 16!

I know he suffered an injury in a car wreck and he's still very young, but a kid with that much talent isn't going to sit around and watch when he could be starting for another program.

Has anyone heard any news regarding his future plans? I would love to know how much LSU is paying him because he was considered an elite recruit and QBs get top dollar.

Hurley is not making a decision based on Van Buren's performance against Southeastern.

This is a topic for December after the regular season is over. No point in speculating before then.

Just because Van Buren is number two this year doesn’t mean he’s number one in the future. If Nuss goes down, you want to play someone who has college experience because this team is built to make a run in the playoffs. Van Buren has a higher floor than Hurley this year so it makes sense that he’s the number two. That can change in the spring and over next summer.

What a dumb thing to ask at this point in the season.

Maybe he’s happy waiting for his turn like Nuss did.

What is the deal with Lagway rumors? I’ve been seeing that for months on here

He has a lot of natural talent, but is really young and really raw and that was before his serious injuries.

Not sure what his eligibility status is, but at this point I'd say it would be a miracle or a bunch of injuries to get to him ever starting a game for LSU.

He may not. His car accident put him behind the 8-ball for this season. A new competition starts as soon as the season is done.

There are no actual rumors. Just deductive speculation that it's likely Napier will be fired, thus making it like Lagway would consider transferring. He was recruited by LSU...along with everyone else...so maybe LSU would be a potential transfer destination (if he chose to transfer). There's nothing concrete about anything.

Hurley is a Redshirt Freshman. He still has plenty of time.

Hurley will have a chance to compete for the job unless they bring in an obvious transfer starter. Although it will still be labeled as a “competition”.

It's amazing that our fanbase thinks Nuss sucks because he wasn't lighting it up against Clemson and Florida but a good 2nd half performance against Southeastern has convinced us MVB is Black Burrow.

WTF would anybody want Lagway as our QB.He is very inconsistent throwing the ball and isn’t that good.

We could use him at ULM next year, could probably find a little NIL money

Let's remember that six months ago this kid was in a rehab hospital learning to walk again. I didnt expect him to be on the team, much less the depth chart. It's way too soon to project his future.

I remember when everyone thought Nuss was leaving, but the reality was Nuss always still had a path to being a starter. Hurley still has a path to start for LSU and he’s very young. If I remember correctly, he’s younger than Bryce Underwood.

Let’s wait until he gets beat out by someone younger than him before we talk about him transferring.

Both Hurley and Martin (VB) exit when Diego Pavia is granted his additional year and heads to LSU!

Really? Because he looked sharp against a mediocre FCS team = automatic starting QB next year?

I wonder how some of you make it through the day and still find your way home.
