Watched the first episode last night. I'll wait to pass judgement to see where they take the main plot line, but man, bad timing on this with what happened last week. They really love them some right wing terrorists.

only the Kirk assassin wasn't right wing. Still the best series on TV.

You can tell from the books that the author Mick Herron leans left, but Jackson Lamb and most of the characters are far from it.
It’s an interesting dichotomy that keeps the books and tv series from swaying too far left, which is hard to do in the modern British TV landscape.

About halfway through episode 2 and I like the pairing of the characters so far in the this one
Strange quite guy with hoodie teaming up with River made me lol a few times
Ho and Lamb was a nice one as well
Edit: Also interesting how they are showing that extremist groups on either side of the political spectrum are being manipulated as pawns by a boogeyman to destabilize things to some unknown end at the moment

Rivers and Coe will definitely be the best duo

In the book on which this season is based, the terrorists were North Koreans. I don't know why they changed it, everybody hates North Korea.

Episode 4 intro before the title was perfecto.
Nice episode and didn't see the end coming.

Yeah. I watched one episode and they were leading into some right wing nonsense and I haven’t watched another one.
ETA: So am I wrong? Because that’s what episode 1 seemed to set up.

That shite at the end of the last episode was some real “jump the shark” crap. And how many times will Shirley be a one-person pursuit and fail miserably? Just implausible stuff everywhere.

I’ll just stay this. I kept watching.

The biggest leap to me is that either of those candidates would be alone like that with no security around. Especially with all that's been happening in London.

Dear god what happened to this show
quote:Yes you were wrong, some big bad guy is using all parties outlier people to destabilize the government.
So am I wrong?
Because that’s what episode 1 seemed to set up.
However the ending of the last episode was so dumb I might not watch anymore. Nothing to do with politics it was just stupid

The absurdity of the paint can was worth it for the Lamb/River/Coe conversation this week.
“Name me one person who’s got a grudge against penguins.”
“….Batman.”
“Oh frick off.”

quote:Yes, this episode ranks up there for me. Actually having competent bad guys is always interesting, and now we know the who and the why.

Interesting that River has become an afterthought as a character following his grandfather's decline and reunion with his psychopathic dad. He's been pretty pointless this year except as a foil for Coe.
