Venables said the expectation is that Mateer will return to action sometime this season.

I’m curious how long he will be out. Very interesting development.

Surgery on his throwing hand. Moderate surgery recovery is 4-8 weeks recovery. But idk if you're throwing seeds at 8 weeks after surgery either.

They have played the easy part of their schedule. Oklahoma is an extremely overrated team. They could easily have 4 losses and be playing for nothing when LSU rolls in

Well if it's his throwing hand, he'll not be taking live reps in practice for a while. Hopefully he builds up a lot of rust. He's a good player.

Guess it would depend on the surgery type. Is it his hand, his thumb.... his vay-jay-jay?

Their defense is legit and Mateer was good without any help in the run game.

he could return against Texas in 2.5 weeks. Texas has no offense and cant score so OU will be fine without them.

They play Kent St Texas and Mizzou. They will beat them.

We’d all like to see our o-line improve as the season goes on, however, a lot of this has to do with how painfully long Jackson Arnold holds the ball.

Hope the kid is okay and recovers fully.

In my experience, these injuries usually take until after November 29th to properly heal. Anything sooner would be risking him longterm.

But don't listen to me. I'm just a doctor.
