Burke and Rooney discuss how the last two title winners would stack up against each other and which model for program-building is more sustainable.

Well it’s only 25 minutes and worth the listen to hear Burke’s outrageous homerism, but if you must have cliffs:

Hitting: overwhelmingly favor ‘24 Tennessee. Say they would take 7 out of 9 Tennessee players in the starting nine when compared with LSU’s starting nine

Starting pitching: They do some mental gymnastics to even the competition but there’s no doubt it’s ‘25 LSU

Bullpen: ‘25 LSU

More sustainable formula:

Tennessee winning in 2026 would not be repeating.

They would probably take 7 of Arky's '25 nine as well. Just sayin.

They reference it in the podcast, but 2023 LSU lineups better with 2024 Tennessee than 2025

LSU defense and pitching carried it in 25 and the offense did just enough
The best thing about that is Jay proved there is more then one way to skin a cat compared to how they won it in 2023
