you know this is why they wont sit Nuss for SELU, they still believe he’s going to be in Heisman contention/front runner

You say this like it’s a horrible thing or like you’re taking a shot at the staff for either (a) underachieving according to your standards or (b) trotting Nuss out there while YOU think he shouldn’t be

Yea i know that, but I’m telling you that’s why he wont sit out of this weeks game to nurse his injury, at least that will have Ole Miss blitzing more and maybe Nuss can dink and dunk em.

Can't win the Heisman in a mid-September game against Southeastern.

lol he’s clearly injured to the point where its a detriment to the whole offense. He can’t throw 15 yards down the field and Kelly says he wont heal til the bye-week, you don’t NEED nuss to beat southeastern. Let him rest now so we can actually have a fully functional offense AT Ole Miss. Heisman and individual awards don’t come above Nattys

Heisman Odds After Week 3

2023 Jayden +3000
2025 Nuss +1500

Sure he's probably not winning but to say it's over is silliness.

To be fair, you have zero clue what Nuss is dealing with - nor do you have any clue what he needs to do to recover

Why don’t yall just let the staff handle this?

Oh I get it…

You have some weird axe to grind with this staff

Given Garret's commitment to staying here for five years, waiting his turn, I'd like to think that he's more interested in leaving with a championship team than a Heisman (if he could only have one).

So if sitting out puts the team in a better position to win long-term, I think he wouldn't hate the idea - regardless of how it affects his Heisman chances.

I also agree with the poster who said "you don't win the Heisman playing SELA". True dat, too. Even if he sits out and rests for SELA, he can make his case against Ole Piss, Bama and 8&4 later this year.

Regardless, I'm okay with whatever he and the training staff decide.

We aren’t going to beat Ole Miss with Nuss being in his current state

Kelly literally said he’s battling a torso injury and can’t practice deep throws.

Heisman is pretty much out the window at this point, not because of any injury but because of poor performance on the field to date.

Yeah, if he leads LSU to a NC they'll say, "but he didn't stat pad vs SELU"

We are 3 weeks into the season. If LSU is 12-0 or 11-1 at the end of the season, Nussmeir will be in New York as a finalist.

If his injury is contributing to his poor performance on the field, doesn't it standard to reason that as he recovers his performance will improve? +1500 isn't "out the window".

That ship has sailed. And his chances of winning would be much better off playing the last half of the season healthy over what he's playing like now.
