Bring back the fullback and I formations

AND TOSS THE BALL TO THE OUTSIDE SO THE BACK DOESN'T HAVE TO RUN THRU A WALL OF FLESH
- make the changes immediately
this is maddening to see LSU go 5 3 and outs with all this speed and talent with a 5th year QB...
Prove me wrong!!!!
I am not spoiled -my eyes see a flawed stragety that is proven to be short of the standard we said we wanted!!!!

we actually could use some ACE and I formation with Qb under center
would help PA passing for nuss. zone reads are a waste with nuss in the gun since he wont run anyway. the RPOs do not look good like we had with JD5 and JB.
WE had some clown poster think just because we are in shotgun spread formations with some meshes we are running da Tim tebow and scam newton offense. aka power spread. i asked him to show me where the power reads and QB powers were with nuss. crickets chirping. so many dumbass takes here.
This boards hit and run thread starters are proof of the dunning-kruger effect.

Might be hindered by zero fullbacks on the roster

BK said in his press conference they are considering that. Not sure who plays FB for us more. I liked Pyburn in that spot but you can’t have him out there consistently without worry of injury.
Going power-I is a lost art these days.
Michigan proved its very effective 2 years ago. Teams have built defenses to be fast and pass defensive. Lots of teams are very susceptible to a power inside running game.
Additionally this helps Garrett as play actions could have some teeth again.

I'd like to see them mix up formations...just to try something different and see if it sticks.
But lots of very good teams put 4-WR's on the field and RPO their way down the field perfectly well. Starting to think maybe we're getting out coached/schemed on that side of the ball

Gen Z just doesn't have roadgrader run blockers.

Bauer Sharp would have been open on that last run had he rolled off his block for a play sction aswell...it can open up so many other things...

use a guard in short yardage like NM does.
just need a H back or someone to lead block for other I formations unless we have a blocking TE sitting om the bench or use#10

Make pyburn a full back / tight end.

You don’t have to be particularly skilled. Just willing. Walk on LBs and DE could do it.

Pretty convinced that the first team with elite talent to revert back to this and stay dedicated to it will absolutely maul teams for a year or two before defenses adjust.

How about bringing back leather helmets?

Holy shite this is hysterical….les miles era, the rant ready to kill if we kept lining up in the I, and running the toss dive.
Here we are today and the rant is calling for the I and toss dives. The fact that we have come full circle is quite hilarious.

We used to run the ball with the TE motioning to the backfield and taking a FB like role.
We would also run play action off of it, have the QB roll out and hit Mason Taylor in the flats with room to run.
Usually worked beautifully, and now we don’t do it anymore.

no, no it is not. we would be more multiple now. did that style work for us in 2011 or not? who said we had to run this all the time. We can mix it up. What we are doing now is not working. You cannot be in the gun all the time if it does not open up the run or if we have no running QB in this style offense. We have terrible pass efficiency. Another thing being under center can fix with a run game then play action.
power runs which opened up PA passing? like 2011?
Do you not understand as longa s our o line can block what it does to help play action? on pass plays? also helps with RB getting a head of steam before handoff?
the OP talked about basically toss sweeps to the outside. he did not say toss dives. you really have no clue what a dive play is do you?
Thank you for proving my points about the Dunning-Kruger effect here.

Kaleb Jackson is sitting at the end of the bench right now. I'm sure he wouldn't be happy with a demotion to FB, but as it is he isn't even on the field.

LSU hardly ever ran toss dive and it was more power and iso with a lead.
