The issue at hand on offense is easily solvable. The solution is not out of grasp

It's get the ball in your playmakers hands down the field, 12+ yards downfield.

Saturday:
Hilton 0 touches
Brown 2 catches
Aaron Anderson 4 catches
Nic Anderson 1 catch
Thomas 4 catches

Most of these being passes shorter than 8 yards downfield. The issue isn't super complex. It's simply, start running deeper routes. Get the ball to playmakers hands we're paying 500k for. Avoid shotgun inside the middle handoffs to at least a lot lower quantity of called plays. If Joe Sloan can't see this, when almost all the fanbase can, then that's a problem.

Sloan said multiple times in Fall Camp "We need to be more explosive." We have stepped back a lot in explosiveness from last year. It's not difficult though to solve. Let Nuss throw balls past the 1st down marker to his playmakers.

This offense is just so fricking weird man. When we really needed to gain an advantage in the game we did with zero problem. That TD drive was a thing of beauty. Tempo. Attacking the middle of the field…
You can argue we did the same thing against Clemson when we needed to.

The problem is we go into a shell when we have the advantage and seem to refuse to go for a kill shot. We flirt with it but can never quite to do it. The Bauer play was a fine example with how we followed up after that huge gain

So far, LSU has decided to play defense balls out and conservative offense.

Results: 3-0 and #3 ranking.

Why is that not good enough for Tiger fans?

conservative offense

No one cares if the offense is conservative if it is effective, but just because we came out of this one with a W does not mean the offense was effective.

You still want to get first downs and milk clock with a conservative offense, so I think it’s reasonable to expect better than being in the 90th percentile of rushing offense.

Because if we’re going to be a ball control offense, which I have no problem with, you can’t be completely terrible in 3rd and short situations.

This defense is elite, but not perfect. Just look at the TD for Florida that got called back…

The offense will have to be leaned on at some points during this season if we’re going to win a national championship and I think that’s where most people are concerned. It’s pretty fair.

Watching this offense is like watching track stars race in a cubicle, it's infuriating opposed to years past

Stop calling Hilton a playmaker. He’s an unreliable one trick pony.

AA should not be targeted on out routes. Too short. DB's eat that up.
Open field across the middle - yes.

Because it's not sustainable. This isn't early 2000s where the defense can carry you all season.

Yes, it's solvable. I think the line will get better as the year goes. The run schemes can fairly and certainly be questioned and we can absolutely do better there.

Whatever is keeping Nuss from throwing deep ball, I can't speak to how solvable that is as I don't know the extent of the issue that's preventing it, but I do believe it lies with him and not a staff decision not to.

did you ever learn anything from watching some miles teams especially post 2012?

those bloviating hey we are 7-0! remember those days? Then we fell on our face because we knew what we saw would not fly moving forward especially offensively. It caught up to u and but us in the arse. Kelly has to fix this shite offense and fix it fast. IDGAF how he does it....we need points and production to support the D or if we keep getting all these 3 and outs the D will get gassed in 2nd halves.

This is not rocket science. We have seen this movie before.

If it was so easily solvable, then why hasn't it been solved?

We had a crappy running game last year with a veteran offensive line. We have a new line but the same crappy running game as last year.

This.....and it can be fixed, but pretending there's no issue will not do that.

I don't think for a second BK does not think there's a issue. Let's see if he can fix it.

yeah like 2002 ohio state.

LSU 2003 had arguably the best D ever(with 2011) but they did not carry us.

sure we had some close games with UGA, UF, and OM but we routed many teams that year also like 2011. we raped arizona in the desert, ULM, La tech, W illinois, auburn, bama, SC, arky. UGA SECCG, MSU, etc.

This is a dumb take. We had 5 interceptions with a pick 6 and only won by 10 points. That isn't conservative offense that is no offense at all.

It's like watching a Les Miles team again, minus the run game. So frustrating!!

There's two issues here - Nuss has some say in who he throws to, and I do believe there are physical issues with Nuss that right now are part of the issue too.....do you think that throw against Tech was an anomoly? Did you see Nuss underthrow any balls by 15 yards in years previous?

It was beautiful. Was the defense running anything different that drive? I can’t remember.
