The one play that bothers me the most

is the parallel passes to Bauer. That has to stop. If you're gonna run that play. Pass it to someone with the ability to juke defenders.

Saw too much success with it vs Clemson.

It's like we can't get out of our own way.

The reality is it worked a bit vs Clemson and now Sloan thinks he has found a cheat code even though every team boss it’s coming.
Much like the WR screen in trips. They know it is coming and destroy it and Sloan is luck it hasn’t turned into a pick 6 yet.
Sloan is an awful OC and thinks he’s a great one.

That play is not designed to juke defenders and run for big gain. That play is meant to be an extension of the running game essentially, where your 250lb tight end turns up field and bulls is way through a tackler falling forward for 3-5 yards. Sharp just doesn’t understand that apparently

I agree. maybe, just maybe Sloan could open the book a little bit more instead of using just the first 2 pages.

A close second is the run play right before half with only one timeout and our RB not getting out of bounds. What the frick goes through Sloan’s head?

When the defenders are there the moment he catches the ball, it's a poorly designed play. Or, something else should have been called.

Mine is the 4th and 4ish near midfield when we go out to try and draw them offsides. Nuss makes one hard count and then just walks around for the final 13 seconds of play clock. Nothing to lose… just keep trying

Man just kept running sideways.

In fairness to the playcall, if Bauer had caught and just turned right upfield instead of trying to get around the corner, he would have gotten the first down.

Is this the most disappointing 3-0 team ever ? I think so.

He definitely turned the wrong way.

Yep. Florida knew what was coming.

That's just the preface. He hasn't gotten to Chapter 1.

Yes, twice the TE ran sideways instead of pushing the ball upfield. He would have gotten the first both times if he'd pushed up field.

Yeah its a play they used last year with Taylor. I get it. At least in a short yardage situation id prefer the reciever hit the 1st down line to gain as his focal point to catch it, not behind it. This happens to much no matter what route we run. The route ran is always a few yards short of the line to gain when caught and we get tackled.
