Jake Retzlaff has been at Tulane for 6 weeks & looks like Joe Burrow

I really can’t wrap my head around it. It is just so bad and inexcusable at this point.

Sumrall is an outstanding coach and will make a P4 very happy next season.

You almost have to actively try to sabotage things for LSU to be this bad on offense.

We have a terrible OC and OL line coach. Those two things combined can hamstring any talented offense.

Be careful Lester, BK might have you killed for making a comment like that

Yea he’s not good. I struggle to find a lifeline on this staff, too.

Alex Adkins has experience. Tim Rattay, by all accounts, is your QB coach and has some experience. But something needs to change

I’ve seen some spurts where i think Sloan can be good. Most of the second half vs Clemson for instance.

I think the volume of weapons we have plus the speed of the game plus Nuss being a more traditional QB muddles it for him and he never allows himself to find a rhythm.

Most annoying moment last night: after the long pass play to Sharp, rather than lining up and hitting the D in the mouth while they’re on their heels, he dials up a quick throw to the perimeter for a loss.

Every play call feels scripted. No feel for the game.

Noticed last night when the broadcast would show Sloan and Atkins in the box, you could tell Atkins was frustrated. That was very telling. The facial expressions and head shakes after certain plays said a lot.

Sloan’s offense doesn’t work at all with a QB like Nuss. He needs a JD or Underwood.

Sloan is not good but the passing failures seem more on Nuss to me

The dude has looked completely fricking rattled 90% of the time this season

After 35 years in the coaching game, one would think CBK could spot true talent in a coordinator

I think the best option would be for kelly to take it over for this season. But not sure how much could be salvaged midseason. I think some of it is scheme and some of it is a lack of teaching minor details.

With that said, i think kelly lacks the killer instinct to want to do it, sadly.

I still think he is a good CEO for the program however

I feel The only time the opponent feels threatened is when they start working the seams & the middle of the field. But that is few & far between

Everything is out to the sideline with lsu WRs running sideways. There’s zero threat to that and the defenders have the sideline as a safety blanket too, it’s just too easy to defend. And it’s not Nuss’s strong suit. It’s all from the pocket. No misdirection rollouts or anything to create space

Yep. That’s where LSU is most likely to have success, but also where Nuss is most likely to throw the game away.

It shows you how important having an even partially competent OC is.

Sloan was a disaster as an OC at LaTech but somehow deserved another shot because he “almost” got us a top tier QB recruit. Kelly was a moron for promoting him even if he got Underwood and now it looks even worse.
