After Watching La Tech Game It's Hard to have Confidence in the Right side of OL

I've watched most of that game a couple of times just trying to look at the OL. The right side of the OL is really the weak point on the line. Chester actually played ok, but Weston Davis was either getting no push or pushed back on running plays and looked very heavy in his feet on passing plays. We have a championship type of D-line but I don't think you can say that about O-line at this point.

Have a strong feeling Weston will not be starting for long. I think Curne takes his spot sooner rather than later. I’d even give Ory Williams a shot. Weston got worked Saturday

5 star alleged tackle too. Our strength and conditioning program and/or OL coaching needs SERIOUS work. DJ Chester is built like a high school freshman

How did they play against the TOP D LINE prospects from Clemson?

It's hard to have confidence in the entire offense, quarterback included.

Yeah but BK chewed the coaches out. Problem solved

W. Davis' footwork is terrible. His use of leverage isn't much better.

And you dont think poor OL play has contributed to poor QB and RB production?
Its kinda hard to do anything with a DL in your face or no holes or cracks to even slide through.

Davis had a 51.5 grade vs Clemson. 3rd worst grade of any starter that game.
He followed up with a 50.6 vs Tech.
He's got to pull it together or get replaced.

My biggest gripe with Nuss is his refusal to run for easy first downs when the field in front of him is wide open and no one is near him.

Nuss was inaccurate all night even when he had time
RB’s are definitely hurt by poor OL play but the play calling doesn’t help either. Sloan is running our guys straight up the middle every play instead of being more creative in the run game

So the Off needs to scheme away from his side if he is the best option at that position. I don't think they should test anything out in our first SEC opponent.

Bro been saying this. Our offensive linemen that aren't transfers that have been here a few years look weak n like absolute shite...Big back, bad built, d2 lookin guys. Thats not what sec linemen look like. Our rbs have bigger biceps than two of our offensive linemen.

We knew that before the season

Weston Davis had some really good reps in the run game against Clemson and had some good reps against Tech. But he also struggled at times but he also did not get help from the back or Tre Green on chips. When Tre missed the chip block he got in Weston's way and it led to the quick pressure and sack. If you are the chip blocker you have to actually make contact with the defender otherwise it does the opposite in helping.

Braelin Moore brings a level of communication to the offensive line that remedies those issues. He is invaluable to the success of our offense.

Ory Williams was so bad in camp they completely removed Curne from the guard competition.
