How can we find find common ground with people who believe that it is a healthy life choice for children to cut off their penis and replace it with a hatchet wound? The answer is it is impossible for any sane or moral person to find common ground with anyone pushing such a dehumanizing ideology.
The question is, where do we go from here? Do we resort to violent retaliation or do we agree to some sort of peaceful separation?

Some type of political separation is the only rational solution. It certainly seems preferable to violent degradation.

Ignoring that the vast majority of the country is relatively moderate, how do you decide who gets to live where? Most states are relatively close in population between D and R.
