Security failure. Again.

I’m not bashing anyone. I don’t know how personal security works. But I feel there is room for question here.
Why is the high ground not being secured? It seems to me that there are two logical threats for events like this and Butler: close up and far away. Any roof within 500 yards needs to be secure, physically or visually.

1. Security is incompetent
2. It is on purpose
There is no third option.

Yeah, there was a video of a guy yesterday that saw the guy on the roof. Those outdoor events need to have a hotline for anyone that if they "see something, say something"

I can't stop thinking the EXACT same thing.
One person in a position of overwatch, even if they aren't armed, would make a significant difference, and in this case, probably a lifesaving one.

You would think sweeping roofs or flying a drone to check roofs would be common practice, especially after the Trump situation. Wild that it's not

How much security did he typically have? For all we know what was there was SOP for him

This is not presidential security or even government security.
This is a private citizen. If he wanted enhanced security, he would have to pay for it.

I was just watching that video. Literally get on the highest roof in the vicinity and watch the other roofs.

Seems like simply flying a drone would eliminate rooftop threats. Or hey at least keep an eye on the roofs for a change.

Universities typically make conservative guests pay for their own security. But sweeping every parking garage, with them still being in use for the rest of the university is probably not reasonable. If he was the Pope or POTUS, of course, but he's wasn't.

is it normal for someone of Kirk's stature to have that type of security at an event like that? Butler was different , it was a presidential candidate and former president with SS protection. A political commentator isn't going to have that type of security unless he pays for it himself

I wouldn't put it past the CIA/deep state to have orchestrated this. Charlie Kirk was becoming too popular with younger generations and they feared the influence he had.

The tour schedule was posted here a few weeks ago and my first thought was “why is he doing this? Some leftist trash is going to try and kill him”
God Bless the Kirk’s. Charlie is now legend!

This will definitely create changes in how security is handled in the future for people like Charlie

Personal security doesn't set up a perimeter at 200 yards nor canvas it.

Campus security is part of my job as a school admin. Never should there be a high profile person on a campus that size without having every one of those buildings secured far in advance. So many things I saw wrong with security on that scene.
With the world we live in today, securing a scene for any political event should be standard protocol. Should have a standard 1 mile high ground clearance and no fly zone protocol.
I know 1 mile is a stretch but with drones and what not you have to take a lot of things into account.
Sad we have to think like that in America today but we do.

I imagine he has a minimal security team.
Dudes company was worth 150 Million
Wish he would have put some more money on his own personal security.

True. But he did have security and did have at least six police officers present.

I think you're going to start seeing these events go indoors only in auditoriums where they can screen anyone entering and leaving.
Sad but that's probably what needs to happen

I do think we've send the end of outdoor events like this. So much more difficult to provide security outside than inside an arena.
