I think today was exactly what I hope for this team for this year:
1. Play close. Do not get embarrassed.
2. Let new coach get experience in managing the game.
3. Young players get lots of PT.
4. Avoid compromising injuries
5. Lose
This is the way for this year. Build experience for young players and coaches. Develop/evaluate young talent. Avoid embarrassing losses. Get high draft picks and able to spend in free agency next year.

We were competitive. Many on this board wrote them off with 4 minutes to go. Glad to see us fight back.

I was pleasantly surprised. The defense allowing them to get first downs and dumb penalties were the issue. Rattler was mostly fine

Pretty sure a few wrote them off after that 1st offensive series

Yep, nailed it. Wins are not the priority right now.
Be the 2024 Titans. Let your first-time offensive HC and his staff get the scheme worked through, let young guys learn and grow, find out what players can be around for the long haul, and, find out what we have at QB. Win a couple games. End up with a solid pick that can be a franchise building player - probably but not necessarily a QB.

I mean you aren't wrong to write this team off. They are bad.

As the losses mount week after week …..
People need to understand this part of the process for a rebuild and just endure it….
Other Option is not to watch if you just can’t take it !!

I agree with everything you said, but not calling timeouts before half is bothering more than anything.

What a miserable way to spend Sunday.

I'm ok with the result. What concerns me is the lack of high end talent or building blocks to turn this thing around eventually. Even bad teams generally have some great or potentially great players. We have no one in the top 100. Our bookend tackles & Bresee are probably the closest things.

This is why this cannot be a 1 year rebuild. It's going to take 2-3. We have a few cornerstone pieces - as you said, the tackles especially. There are a few guys on defense as well that possibly could be, but still tbd. What we have to try and do this season is establish who the "solid" guys are going to be (guys like Koolaid are probably never going to be elite - but maybe can be a "good" starter on a contending team), get the scheme right to work with what we have, and then spend the next couple offseasons really finding a few more cornerstone guys. Picking Banks was the first step on that journey.

i don't think they are stupid...
some refuse to accept reality, even if it staring them right in the face...
some think being contrarian makes them a super fan or some shite...
some will always hold out hope, no matter who, what, when, and/or where...
and none of them are wrong for their opinions, just as we are not wrong in ours, but it is amazing how steadfast some here can be, even if all the evidence in the world is saying otherwise... whether trolling or whether just a matter of principle, it's odd, at the least

Agree about lack of potential future stars to watch develop other than the tackles, and Breese. I’d say there are a few young players w good (not great/star) ceilings:
Shaheed
K Miller
D Neal
Kool-Aid
Young DT’s
