They are ending FFS for most of the tournaments next year. All these young pros who learned in FFS are focked. Jordan Lee posted a video with excitement on the news. Poor Ben Milliken posted a video against it of course. I don’t see him lasting in the elite series now.

5 of the 9 will allow FFS correct? I sure hope the high school tournaments follow suit.

I think the way it’s laid out they will allow 4 and they will pick before the season. I have a feeling the high school tournaments will follow suit. Will allow the kids to adjust if they have hopes to further their fishing career. It’s a win win for competitive fishing

Why? Its leads you to the fish, yes, but it doesn't make them bite.

Wonder if Garmin will reduce their sponsorship dollars an equal amount.

I wouldn’t mind if they allowed it for practice and then went dark during competition. All they need to do to make it watchable is get away from dudes staring at screens while holding a fairy wand.

FFS is not good for bass fishing or tackle sales. All anyone wants to buy is jig heads and plastic minnows. It also prices the average fisherman out of the tournament arms race. There needs to be separate divisions or tournaments for FFS and we are starting to see that separation

Behind? MLF made their changes last year. Compare media exposure, viewership, and pro rosters of MLF and BASS. BASS is slowly dying because MLF is a far superior product with better pros. My point is that MLF will make no FFS changes for quite a while

Forward facing sonar. It lets you see the fish

With FFS you can pick out the bigger fish, identity the fish species to some extent, make your cast and change your presentation based on how the fish reacts in real time. You can also not waste your time making a guaranteed unproductive cast. I don't use it and have never had one.

I don't get the hate for FFS. It's just another tool for those of us that like to use artificial.

Most of the big bass caught in FL are on shiners. Most specks are caught on live minnows. Should live bait be outlawed because it has more affect on overall fish population than FFS ever will.

BASS and MLF are, at their core, just infomercials. High level marketing to generate sales for their sponsors. Lure manufacturers are screaming the loudest.

ETA ... Many of those whining the loudest think nothing of using deer feeders. Hmmmmm.... But I guess we don't have "professional" deer hunting, yet.

We are talking about tournament fishing Live bait is not allowed in bass tournaments or multiple pokes, trolling, many other things that are allowed recreationally

The argument I hear most often from non-pro fishing followers is that FFS is depleting the resource. As far as pros go, if everyone can use it, what's really the issue?

My opinion; technology has made us dumber, lazier & depletes our critical thinking skills over time. The only skill needed to be a great fisherman with FFS is learning the cheat code.
Will FFS create smarter fish like the spinning wing decoys did with ducks?
I guess time will tell.
