First time in Baton Rouge

I'm heading down for the Texas A&M game and it'll be my first time to see a game in Tiger Stadium. Looking at places to stay and am wondering what areas of the town would be good to possibly get an AirBNB or Vrbo?
Does anyone have recommendations on a decent area for a couple to stay at? Doesn't have to be right near campus but also hoping to avoid a long drive back to the place after the game.
Thanks in advance for any recs or advice!

If you can find something near a presidents name it should be a simple walk….wait sorry. Just saw you’re a tiger fan. I have no clue what to tell you where to stay nowadays

North of campus is a no go.
Lod Cook (Cook Hotel) is great on campus.
Nice hotels like Rivermark or Hilton downtown.
Renaissance on Bluebonnet is nice but far.
Many right there off College and Cooperate wouldn’t be too hard to get to from game.

You will almost certainly get stuck in horrible traffic, and it will be a long drive to just about anywhere.

Lauberge is nice and I believe they have a shuttle to and from campus on game days.

Baton Rouge has turned into a shite hole. Everything north of campus is a hell hole of violence and graft. Section 8 has spread to the entire city and now there are no nice areas or safe areas just stay south of campus and hope for the best. crime is rampant and it's not getting better.
You'll leave having had a good time at the game and then be sad at how the city is .... a shite hole.

Stay in Hammond or Denham Springs. It’s a short drive over to catch the game and will save you some bucks.

A VRBO in an area called Southdowns will work...also anything off of Jefferson Highway. Absolutely look at NOTHING NORTH of the LSU campus....nothing around Seigen lane/Sherwood Forest Blvd/Oneal Lane hotel wise either...
Good luck.
Good luck.
