Switching from Apple to Android. Surprisingly better than expected but Google is a concern

Galaxy Z Fold 7 or whatever this is called has been a dream. Transfer of data has been easy and great. This device is really cool coming from 15 years of boring iPhone.

Google though controls everything. My home cameras are now automated. It has my email. Texts. Browser history. Passwords. Thermostat is controlled through their apps. Payment and Wallet. Maps and location.

I coukd easily see how they could manipulate this power and blacklist people from the modern economy. Maybe Apple could do the same but this is all so integrated and in your face, it's rather shocking.

Overall though the experience has been positive with this phone. Love it.

why? Apple was spying and selling your data just like Google does.

As the saying goes... if you're not paying for the product... YOU are the product

All the apps & whatnot that you use for free have your information as the product

You could always…..and hear me out because I know this seems like a weird concept……not have everything automated in your house and connected to google.

I’m out of touch but what do you do if you make the switch and all of your music is on Apple Music?

Do you pay for apple music? If so you should just be able to download the apple music app then log into your account

I was helping a seasoned citizen friend with his iPhone, what a garbage product. Android infinitely better

I use both platforms. Android has always been my personal phone but I use IPhone for work. As you noted, the IPhone is extremely boring and it's cumbersome to use, imo. I'd never switch to it.

Welcome to having Google data mine the hell out of you and yours. All those "free" google shite apps come at a high cost.
