Los Angeles is the biggest shithole I've ever seen.

First time ever visiting LA (or Southern Cal) and this place is a complete wasteland.
Leaving the airport was absolute shitshow. The entire process took almost three hours. Every rental car place is offsite, so you get to be herded like cattle onto shuttles to take you there but that wasn't even the worst part...
The second you hit the streets, it feels like stepping into a third world country. Shirtless beggars at every light walking up to your window. Fuglies sprawled out on sidewalks like corpses. Junkies wandering in circles. Random arse tents set up on street corners. I swear, I saw more ratty, inbred looking subhumans just driving from LAX to Burbank than I've seen my entire life in the south. Let me hear another dumbass Californian make fun of southerners again...
And the roads are awful. I thought Atlanta's were bad but these look like streets in a war torn country.
I stopped by Playa delray beach because I wanted to see some of the coastline as this is the only day I'll get to sightsee, plus it's literally right behind LAX and I couldn't believe how disgusting it was. There was trash everywhere and graffiti covering every structure and sidewalk. The sand smelled like straight UTI piss too. The Gulf of America absolutely puts the Pacific to shame. It's not even close.
People always joke about how bad LA is, but if you've never been here, trust me, it's worse than you can imagine. I came in with tempered expectations and was STILL floored by how disgusting it is. LA looks like the end result of decades of unchecked liberalism. I don't know how the frick people live here but none of these dumb fricks should ever be allowed to vote in any federal election ever again based on how fricked up this area is.

LAX and the beaches by LAX is how your graded it? I was going to let this go until you lumped SoCal into this.
Guess you missed Sunset, Manhattan Beach, Laguna, Malibu, Newport, La Jolla and basically every other awesome place there in SoCal.
Not saying LA is perfect, far from it. But you should probably go back and try again.
And don’t be a sand sniffer. There is still some fire debris on the beach north of Santa Monica pier. We don’t want you to get something stuck in your nose.

You flew into LAX and stopped in Venice Beach to get a feel for the Pacific Ocean, then drove 15 miles to Burbank through literally the worse part of the second largest city in the country.

LA is a shithole ... as a whole. There are a few decent places but, as a whole, LA has no redeeming qualities.
Spend enough time there and you'll have to step over human feces, watch druggies inject, be accosted by homeless, have your rental broken into and/or have your rental jacked, you'll be mugged, your wife will have her purse snatched and you'll be assaulted for having a Southern accent.

Well there’s your first problem is that you flew into LAX. Next time fly into John Wayne Airport/Orange County which is a small and very nice airport that has the rental cars on site.
Never fly into LAX unless you have no other choice because combined with the rental cars being a few miles away and the traffic, you don’t save any time than you would if you flew to Orange County instead. And if you can’t get Orange County, then fly to Ontario or Burbank instead.
