Anyone ever tried Tai Chi as a work out?

It looks interesting and you can do it anywhere. I just dont know if its a gimmick or not.

I mean you probably won’t gain a lot of strength or loss body fat, but you’ll enhance your longevity, breathing control, improve your propioception and body awareness etc

I tried a few YouTube videos but it just seemed like a weird mix of yoga and dancing that left me in no man's land.
