Same thing just happened to Nyck Harbor.

They just explained it pretty good.

I think in this case, the ball may not have been completely secured, and I don't have an issue if it was called incomplete on the field and upheld, but to overturn it is bullshite to me. If you have possession, get your feet down, and cross the plane, it's a TD. End of story.

NCAA needs to revisit what is a catch. This is getting ridiculous.

Not really. Brown caught the ball outside the Endzine made a football move carried across the plain the lost control out of bounds. That’s a TD
Harbor went up made a catch in the EZ came down in bounds but lost control and ball hit the ground. That’s always Ben the rule.

No one does, but it’s PROVOCATIVE!

not according the current rule if you go to the ground in the process of said catch.

Two doff issues. Brown possessed the ball before going into the endzone, so as soon as he omcross the plane it should have been a TD and not required to catch through going to the ground. Harbor attempted to catch the ball in the endzone and therefore is required to maintain possession though going to the ground, which he did not.

It wasn't as egregious of a frick up, but to me, he was holding the ball with one hand on his way down. To me, that's possession, but if you're slowing down any video and dissecting, you can argue any movement as not being possessed. This whole thing is getting ridiculous when we're arguing degrees of semantics.

Yeah, but you have to want to understand it.

That’s the issue. Brown didn’t go to ground in the process of making the catch. He didn’t dive to make the catch. He didn’t leap to make the catch, then lose his balance in the process of landing. He made the catch, made a football move, then lost his balance in his attempt to reach the end zone. The process of making the catch was long over at that point. It was a ridiculous misinterpretation of the rule.

And once again, that is in conflict with what is a touchdown and what isn't.

When you have to run it at 1000 frames per second with multiple angles to be able to tell, then it’s a catch. Refs pretty much suck and I hate them all in every sport.

It’s the rule, so it’s the NCAA’s fault.

Take their jobs and be a part of the solution.

Couldn’t lower my self worth enough to be a ref.

Either that or you don't have the nutsack. One or the other.

Can you just imagine barely missing playoffs and at year's end looking back on that blatant error?

It’s the rule. It’s simple. It’s a terrible rule and needs to be addressed
