Going to be spending all week in Lafayette and need some good casual lunch suggestions (hole in the wall type, non-chain stuff). Been to Dwight's, Randol's and Prejeans. Any other suggestions. Thanks.

Second the nomination for a plate lunch at T-Coons.

Cant go wrong with a poboy from Olde Time Grocery on St Mary. I'm also partial to a burger from the Judice Inn on Johnston for lunch.

Drive down Hwy 90 almost to New Iberia and pull over at The Boiling Point (on the right hand side) for the biggest boiled shrimp you will ever eat.

A new Restaurant called Jolie's on Pinhook is outstanding according to a good friend with a sophisticated pallet. White tablecloth/upscale.

I'm looking forward to trying it in the near future.

Judice burgers are great. If you like to eat a sausage biscuit for lunch, because thats about the size they are. Go a quarter mile up the road towards S. College and get a burger from Southside Bakery. Old Tyme Grocery for a Po-Boy. Zeus's if you like lebanese/greek and also Guama's is great for cuban food. If you are looking for a real hole in the wall go to the Wild Salmon! The guy gets fresh salmon and halibut flown in each week from alaska, its between eraste landry and lafayette high.

Ate at Laura's Two today. Got the turkey wing with rice and gravy. Good call by whoever suggested that. The lady who rang me up even let me get my drink for free since she forgot to ring it, said I was going to need something to wash it down. Super nice people. Definitely going to stop by to repay for the drink.

Looking forward to trying some other places this week.

Have you eaten there and were not impressed ?

If so, I understand because they don't have much of a menu and some people do not like the lack of options. Portion size is not overwhelming, but their double cheeseburger w/ grilled onions would fill me up even if I was really hungry.

Personally, I love the flavor. The burgers are well seasoned and delicious. I don't go home with leftovers, but I enjoy every bite while I'm there.

There is also a neat story to the place. It is printed on the back side of all the menus and I enjoy reading it every time I go.

Dwyers on Jefferson St, downtown.

Everyone forgets about Dwyers but it's definitely one of the best lunch/breakfast places in Lafayette. Pork roast & eggplant dressing is awesome. Best burgers in town too!
