I can't tell from the pictures, but if your BBQ area is enclosed on 3 sides, you may want to consider installing an exhaust fan to clear the smoke from your outdoor kitchen when smoking/bbqing

re: Shade Tree Cafe in Broussard

They have creative, delicious products. They do not have inside seating. Service is pick up or dine under the Oak trees on good weather days.
Don't know if it was an optical illusion or not, but it looked to me like the attendance was 60% Bama fans and 40% LSU Fans in the dome Monday night.
If I am acurate, imagine how the players may have felt coming out of the locker room for the final time pior to the game and seeing a larger number of Bama fans than LSU fans. May have been a huge distraction/disappointment for them, if accurate.

Crowne Plaza Dallas Market

Anyone staying at the Crowne Plaza Dallas Market Center for the LSU Oregon game? Never been there before but costs almost too good to be true.
What night does the league come on?

Question about lifetime hunting license

Posted by lsun16 on 12/18/10 at 5:18 pm
The Louisiana Lifetime license is the best deal around for $500. I got one for myself and son 4 years ago and it has nearly paid for itself by now. I do not understand why more people dont take advantage of this. Even as a resident, I was paying about $90/year in license fees with freshwater fishing, saltwater fishing, General hunting, big game hunting, archery, muzzleloader, La Duck stamp, etc. Plus if you ever have to move out of state you are covered and never have to pay the high non-resident fees

When this poster says if you ever move out of state you are covered and never have to pay the high non resident fees, does that mean Louisiana's lifetime hunting license covers other states hunting license requirements? That does not sound right. Please help.

When jimbeaux 82 says "you will never have to buy another license if you move out of state", can I interpret that to mean this lifetime license applies to all states?
How much are you payinng for the 4 tickedts, if I am not being too nosey?

Try Victor's Cafeteria on Main St. downtown New Iberia. Great home cooked style foods. It has been here for many years.
It is right across from the main downtown parking lot-Bouligny Plaza. Very reasonable prices
I have read all of your posts. You sound like a TRUE LSU fan.
I want to drive to Omaha for the 2nd & 3rd championship series games. I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide to get me reserve tickets.
I will be glad to pay you a handling fee. I am willing to pay $100 per ticket including your fee.

re: Crawfish Stock

Posted by lsun16 on 5/28/09 at 11:05 pm to
Every year I buy 10 lbs of live crawfish and boil them in water with onions, garlic clery, bay leaf , salt, pepper, thyme and red pepper flakes for approximately 1 hour. I strain the crawfish, preserve the stock and then extract the fat from the heads. The meat is pretty mushy so not much good. However, the stock is outstanding. I seperate it into 5-6 small zip lock bags and freeze. I add this to etouffee, bisque or any other crawfish dish. It adds outstanding flavor much like the old days when you could buy fresh crawfish fat.

Is there a radio station in the Lafayette area that is carrying the game?

Legnon's in New Iberia is the best by far. It has a very rich pork taste, very flavorful, the right amount of spice and great rice to meat ratio.
Dons off of I-10 in Lafayette is very similar to Legnon's.

A new Restaurant called Jolie's on Pinhook is outstanding according to a good friend with a sophisticated pallet. White tablecloth/upscale.

I'm looking forward to trying it in the near future.
