Look at Sark and Day chumming it up pregame like NFL coaches. This game doesn’t matter.

It will take a while for the novelty to wear off, for us to see these marquee matchups multiple times in the playoffs, to see rematches every year, to see teams play 3 times in a season, but fans are gonna eventually realize what I could see coming from a million miles away.
And what TV execs are gonna figure out probably too late for this next round of deals, but will definitely know by the next. The regular season only matters cumulatively—individual games DO. NOT. MATTER. Especially in August. And with the bigger the playoff expands, fans are going to eventually start tuning in later and later to college football. We’ll all watch our favorite teams every week, but consumption of regular season college football will be down significantly 5 years from now. Even more so every time the playoffs expand. People will wait until October or November to really start paying attention. It will turn into college basketball real quick. It’s already here, we’re just still in denial.

Most coaches are friendly with each other. I don’t think it’s that deep

Hot Carl, who has been a member since 2005 and 61,000 posts, is just realizing coaches “chum” it up pregame. These are the types of opinions on message boards

Yea…the NFL really suffers from this fatigue. No one watches the regular season

While I get what you are saying, the reality is we can all enjoy these games because it’s not life or death now. Both fanbases will still be alive after this game. Or would you rather entire fanbases give up on the season before the calendar flips to September? That’s what we’ve had for 100 years. It’s about time this sport becomes legit and allows teams to grow and become better without having to hear in mid December about a loss in August.

They should’ve fought at mid field like coaches used to do pre NIL

You’re reading way too much into this shite.

Lol in 1969 texas head coach made his offensive coordinator teach Oklahoma how to run the wishbone offense and basically gave them the playbook.
Oklahoma beat them the next 7 years in a row after that.
Coaches are a fraternity, always have been

Laughed audibly on this, solid comment.

Coaching circles are pretty small. Lot of these guys are friendly with each other. Never know when you’ll need a job.

Who pissed in your cereal this morning?

Feels kinda dirty watching this "dress rehearsal" knowing we'll see the do-over come January like Oregon-OSU last year...and the winner of this matchup will not be rewarded again in the redux seeding.

99% of them have the same agent, Bro. Sexton.

They try to tear each other’s lungs out when they play but once it’s over they aren’t mortal enemies like SEC Rant posters.

Kinda how I feel. Watching 1 vs 3 and it seems fricking pointless. This sport kinda sucks now.
