Clemson defense had 35 sacks for 208 yards. Forced 14 fumbles.
LSU defense had 34 sacks for 217 yards. Forced 14 fumbles.

Assumed with all the Clemson "elite DLINE" hype there would be a bigger difference.

Which defense improved the most in the offseason?
Who played against better competition?

*Not sure if Clemson numbers include their extra games (conf champ and playoff).

Which is why they will have to show me before I believe it.

Woods and Parker showed some great flashes, but were inconsistent. They picked up Heldt from Purdue who people were gushinggggg over...he had pretty average numbers at a school that went 1-11 and lost by more than 30 6 times

IMO, Woods is the real deal. Parker just bullrushes and flies upfield losing contain. But sometimes he literally runs over the tackle and just blows the entire play up. Very boom or bust. Heldt is a TBD, Capehart was a 2020 recruit going into his 6th season. It is insane the hype they are getting currently, but it is up to LSU to show them as frauds instead of making the hype real

And the only one I actually have recollection of recovering was the one before the half against Ole Miss. We were terrible at forcing turnovers.

That sucks for a defensive who supposedly has the best D-Line in the country.

14 forced fumbles. Recovered 8. Not sure what you were watching.

6 FF, 5 recovered better percentages, but fewer total and fewer recoveries.

I’m saying that I don’t recall us forcing that many game changing turnovers outside of the Ole Miss and South Carolina games.

We had two forced fumbles against South Carolina that we recovered. The second one was the drive where Nuss threw a pick instead of checking it down but regardless we won the game.

We also had a fumble against A&M early in that game that we recovered. We weren't that bad at forcing turnovers we were bad in coverage so we didn't get a lot of interceptions. We dropped a crap ton of interceptions. Whit weeks holds on to that ball against USC in the 4th quarter we win that game. Both Zy and Gilbert dropped a pick in overtime against Ole Miss. Stamps dropped a pick, Zy dropped a pick six in the bowl game, Sage Ryan dropped a pick against OU.

I could go on and on.

They had a MUCH easier schedule too. Lots of hype around this Clemson defense….we shall see Saturday!
