What do candlelight vigils accomplish?

I assume one is coming. What do these events actually accomplish?

Why not put that energy towards actually fixing the problem?

Most the time no one is willing to be honest or admit to any of the root causes.

Don't be a blatant dickhead. People are relying on their faith. If you don't like it, don't watch or participate.

Shows a community rallying together to be there for each other.

Let's people know that others care.

Allows people to pray as group to rid the world of unfathomable evils.

Are you retarded?

What's "the problem?"

This should be good.

Feminine.

None of this will fix whatever problem is at hand.

It's a way for people to come together, grieve, reflect, and hopefully heal somewhat spiritually after such an event. It's no less helpful and no more inappropriate than providing grief counselors to students or employees after the occurrence of a similar mindless, violent act.

Undoubtedly, many politicians will use the opportunity for the "optics" it presents and to grandstand a bit in wake of tragedy, but for many, it's a first step in spiritual and emotional healing.

I have a feeling that you, much like I tend to be, are put off by it mainly because of the crocodile tears shed by politicians and the media providing the coverage. I completely get what you're saying by positing the question.

Now you're bitching about the way that people choose to grieve? WTF is wrong with you?

The energy of lighting a candle and offering some spiritual comfort vs waging war against the media, left wing useful idiots and democrat politicians to have transexualism diagnosed as a mental illness and then developing treatment and then prohibiting these mentally ill people from owning weapons?

After lighting the candle and praying there’s just no energy left man. None.

It takes more effort to do that than to throw out "Thoughts and Prayers" on social media. The visual alone can be powerful enough to move people towards finding a solution.

You are a fricking mental loser - let people mourn the way they want to mourn.. all of you evil dick sucking democrats always have to be up in people’s business

Why the frick do you care how people mourn? Oh I know why.. you were the loser kid that everybody hated (and still does) that got bullied and picked on in school so you now feel that it is now your duty to make everybody’s lives miserable while trying to control and bitch about how NORMAL Americans live their lives.

Perhaps you should take your loser arse to a psychiatrist and stop worrying about what other people do you piece of garbage

Personally I have no issue with it. But that mayor and Jen Psaki don't need to be there. Hypocrites.

Assuredly. Most vigils that I have witnessed can’t even speak about the root cause of whatever problem is at hand due to political correctness.

Vigils do nothing for the victims who will he in heaven. Those left behind are the ones who suffer now.

No one is willing to fix this because of greed, ignorance, power, and pride.
