Astros are 1.5 games up on Seattle in the division and 4.5 games up on KC in the wildcard. The Mariners and Royals are off today while Houston hopes to win to take 2 of 3 from Colorado.

Following today’s game, the Angels come to town for a weekend series in Houston while Seattle travels to Cleveland and the Royals host the Tigers.

I’m tired of hearing about the boys struggling to get through the ‘dog days of summer’. It’s time for the stretch run, hopefully they get their shite together, get some injured players back, make a run at this thing.

Gonna be tough to get a W with that lineup. Dragon clipped me by a minute getting it posted.

No Yed

Damn near 4 mos of rest with a coddled rehab and even his hit was a HR he could trot on

And he needs rest today

Anyone showing up to watch this one might as well develop a cocaine habit.

I don’t understand why Espada has to get cute with the lineups. Why not keep Sanchez in there

Be prepared to see it twice against the Angels, they got two lefties lined up.

If Cam can get going it makes it bearable, but with him being a non-factor for a few months now it makes it more of a glaring thing.

Sanchez a .404 OPS for the season against LHP, .509 for his career. That's pretty damn unplayable even with how bad we know the other guys are.

Im ok with Chas in. Melton is an automatic out. Fielding is about equal.

Alvarez getting a day off already.

Melton is a better CF but Chas needs to at least remember how to hit LHP. Of course, The Son Also Rises so this problem could be solved soon.

As hot as he is overall, Sanchez is not good against lefties. 2-last-26.

I am going to give the bozo medical team the benefit of the doubt here, which in and of itself should be a fireable offense. But maybe they want to ease him back fairly gradually with the hand. He even had off days during rehab at Corpus. I assume he is getting the full day off...no BP or anything...to stay on the routine of a couple days on, then a day off, til he is 100+%.

I hate it, but if this is the rationale, I get it.

If Yed getting the day off is Espada being a dipshit, then all bets are off....

Melton
I have yet to see anything resembling the guy that made him so called untouchable in trade talks

He can't be considered anything but a miss at this point and anything we could have gotten for him probably ends up a better result

But at least all these injuries gives you a chance to find out now instead of banking on him

He didn’t play three straight days on his rehab and they probably even rushed it a bit to get him back up ASAP. They are not going to push him until they have to. Expecting him to play every day is pretty wild considering the difference maker that he is and needing him available as much as possible this next month
