So after looking sharp all preseason, we cut Diggs and keep .... two kickers?

You can split hairs on the QB decision, understand the RB moves, and make sense of everything else. But how in the world did they settle on this?
Edit: Some releases are saying we kept Charlie Smyth, others say we cut him. Not sure which is correct..

Diggs is the one cut I scratched my head on. Guess they're hoping to sneak him through but I'd be surprised

Not upset over cutting Diggs because he only looked slightly better than Foskey. I'm just curious who is our depth behind Young, Granderson, and Jordan at OLB.

#98 Chris Rumph II, that's it currently. But with as active as we have been in the last week addition new players I'm sure we'll do just like all other teams and pay attention to who's been cut today and place claims or look at the veterans that have been waived.

Yeah I missed Rumph still being here. He looked decent I guess. Probably better on special teams as well.
Wouldn't doubt if we brought in someone else though.

Does Charlie Smyth count on the roster being an international player?

I don't believe I saw him in the final 53, and iirc it was basically an exemption spot but might only be for practice (an extra practice squad spot basically). Been a minute since I looked at that program for international players.
Edit:
Looking it up, CBS Sports says he was indeed cut, but he might still be eligible for that program spot. Pretty sure he would still have to clear waivers though.

So it is basically an extra PS spot, but that player can play in up to 3 games during the season. If a team wants them to play more than that they have to sign them to the 53.
He'll have to clear waivers and then we can place him in that spot.

They get a roster exemption for Smyth because he is a foreigner.

I feel the same, glad to have him as a STs and depth only, but I think we need another rotational guy with more talent. Maybe Jordan can surprise me, but I just think at his age that the Edge/OLB is not going to translate to production for him. 3-4 DE stopping run with some pass rush ability yes, but he's not that quick twitch explosivity type that we are expecting of the same position from Young & Granderson
