Actually, the question if whether a Senate "rule" can trump a President's appointment power has never been tested.

That said, this could have long reaching effects (as the filibuster is also a Senate rule)

Good. I like Grassley.

Where in the Constitution does it say "gentlemen's agreement" should prevent the legal processes of this country?

Even most of the good guys in Congress need to be reminded we have a president that won Bigly and has the Constitutional Right to appoint those he wants to positions of need.

This BS delaying tactic should be challenged.
Unlike Dims and Leftists, PDJT will abide by the courts decision.

Yet, he is a dictator according to TDS acolytes.

F’ing love it. Whether the SCOTUS falls into the camp of the constitution or the senate rules remains to be seen. And sorry not sorry, F the filibuster and the smoke and mirrors that it is

The President has been free to appoint her since the day he took office.

It’s that pesky “consent of the Senate” thing that is preventing her from assuming the permanent office.

It's a political question. Courts won't touch it.

The consent of the Senate does not mean the consent of two Senators from one state.

Huh? This makes zero sense.

The Constitution says only the president can nominate. Not the Senators from each state involved. The blue slip is essentially a home state Sen deciding the nomination

All the Senate can do is vote up or down on the nomination. Not hold it from a vote until the president caves to an individual Senators whims

That is the definition of unconstitutional

Were Senators from Red States given the same courtesy by Pelosi, or did said Senators just roll over and respect Biden Nominees regardless of their counter political views? Or is this like the Gerrymandering, in that Dems ignore the rules but expect their opponents to play by them.

Something is amiss. Grassley is Mitch McConnell light and should have to defend his actions in a highly public way. No more back room bs.

I wouldnt be surprised this is all show for Grassley to save face with the good ole boys. He will come out and say sorry fellas I tried but there is a new sheriff in town and we have to vote......then he and Trump close the doors to the oval office crack open a few diet cokes and laugh about it.

Are you confused because the loon George Webb is on X saying Habba was part of an Iran assassination team in burglary? George Webb and Patrick Byrne are both informants you cannot trust.

it is obvious that the standards a nominee must meet to receive Senate confirmation vary wildly.

It seems to be more about the nominator than the nominee
