My take on QB

Ride with shough to see if he can handle it.
Rattler is nothing more than a backup
Cut Haener and look for a waiver pick up.
I wouldn’t trade for anyone at this stage.
Hopefully you draft high enough in 26 to find an answer.

Yea…start Shough and see what you have. Only answer.

Variations on your opinion seem to be in the majority on this board, but I particularly like the way you have stated it. I don’t see Haener as an NFL career guy, so move on from him. Rattler looks like an NFL player but I would be really surprised if he is a starter. Picking the right vet off waivers could give you someone with seasoning and maybe help with development and then we get to see if Shough looks like he could be a real NFL starter.

As long as we have that O-Line, I don’t care who’s at QB

This is the correct take IMO. This is not a playoff team. There is no reason to go with safe or “higher floor”, and honestly I don’t even know if Rattler has a higher floor at this point. He looks the same as he did last year.
Go with the upside in Shough, and see if he’s the answer (more than likely he’s not).

One of these 2 needs to happen:
Either Shough or Rattler shocks the world and shows immediate signs of being a franchise qb (or competent enough to consistently win games in the league).
Or
Both stink up the joint in spectacular fashion and the Saints have a top 2-3 overall pick next year.
The question is how long is the leash with either of these guys? Say Rattler starts and we see no difference from last year. What’s the cutoff point before throwing in the towel and seeing what you have with Shough? 0-4, 0-5, 1-6? How many receivers and o-lineman will be injured by then?

Rattler appears to be the same QB as he was last year. I think we have seen his ceiling. We have not seen Shough’s.
I’d start Shough and let the season go where it may.

Shough is going to get ample opportunity to prove it this season, one way or another. Whether it’s 17 games or 13 games, we will know if he can handle it

To me both of them look about the same.
If I had to choose, I would probably go with Rattler right now. Especially with the first four games. My reason is he has at least a year of experience, I understand he has six losses, but he was with an injury plagued team and no receivers to throw to last year.
He'll be facing the Bills and San Francisco. He'll have two games at home and two games on the road. That's a good indication to see if he is a legit NFL starter.
It also gives Shough another 4 weeks to get used to the system and the speed of the NFL.
Spend the next 2 weeks to let Rattler get used to being on the same page as the receivers and running backs
If Rattler doesn't look good in those four games, then yeah start the rookie and ride him the rest of the year.
Of course that's my opinion
If Moore chooses Shough, then great.
He is more of a gambler than I am and obviously sees more at practice than we see.
I just hope we have a better record than last year
And I hope that trade for that wide receiver turns into at least half of what Marqus Colston was

Seems like we have seen enough of rattler from last year. You need to see what shough can do this year. Because we are probable picking in the top 5 next year. And you might have a chance at a real franchise qb that high up if shough isn't the one.
