Moving to 3 & Currently have 4 scheduled. I like having at least 1 good non-conference game each year.

@SMU (9/1)
vs Arizona State (9/8)
vs Rice (9/29)
vs McNeese

I’d imagine McNeese gets moved to 2028 since it doesn’t have a date attached?

Other years:
2026
vs Clemson (9/5)
vs McNeese (10/3)

2027
@ Houston (NRG, 9/4)
vs UTSA (9/11)

2028
vs SMU (9/2)

2030
@ Arizona State (9/14)

2031/2032
@ Utah (9/6/31)
vs Utah (9/11/32)

As a fan, I have zero excitement about playing Tech or SELA this year.

If you gave me a choice between 9 SEC games, and schedule 3 of the weakest teams possible

Then having a 8 game SEC season and play Oregon / West Virginia or UCLA / USC

Yeah ... bring on 9 with McNeese and Nichols

This would be an awesome game to go to for the scenery.

If only you had an ancient rival 80 miles from your campus you could schedule.

My guess is that LSU plays 4 conference games at home next year with Clemson at home, then 5 the following year with game at Houston.

Isn’t the SEC moving to 9 conference games starting 2026?

No depends on permanent opponents lsu would get 3 home and 3 away rotating games then home vs Alabama / Oklahoma @ Texas A&M vs Ole Miss so we would get 5 home games and 4 away games even though we are home vs Clemson in non conference play

So 2027 we would probably only have 6 home games since lsu is playing a neutral site game with Houston and 2029 since they are at SMU and 2030 @ Arizona state and 2031 @ Utah

What I would have done:

2027 - 2028 make it a home and home series

2027,2029,2031 4 home 5 away

2026,2028,2030,2032 5 home 4 away

What I could see happened is they back out of the Arizona state and Utah series or switch location years keep the SMU series but switch it to Dallas in 2028 and Baton Rouge in 2029 to realign with 5 home / 4 home years

expect this to change. 2027 doesn't meet new SEC guidelines

Tech would be the in-state team to play outside of Tulane. Unfortunately we seem to be quite in between coaches...

Arizona state contract buyout is $100k
Utah is $2 million per game

Could moved the Arizona state series to

2034 @ Arizona State
2035 vs Arizona state

That way we will have 7 home games both seasons

Strength of schedule; get rid of these Div II games like McNeese and SLU. If they still want a one state opponent each year stick with Div I teams which would only be Tulane, Louisiana Tech or Louisiana.
