Why not consider Generac? Bad experience?

Damn that’s a tough one. Had great engines from both!

Find out who has the best service and customer experience near you. When it hits the fan and every hardware store is closed and you can’t get parts easily…. they need to be there.
In my area that means Generac.

Aren’t B&S and Koehler the same company now?

Have a 26kw Kohler on my house (Houston). Only had it 1 year and never had any issues. Starts up within 10 seconds after loss of power and runs great. House is 2900 sq ft 4 BR / 3 Baths, office, electric dryer, 2 AC units, pool etc…. All can run at the same time and house functions as normal.
I use Genpro for a service plan.
I would go with Kohler if I had to do it over again. I was deciding between B&S and Kohler. The service company did not hesitate suggesting Kohler when I asked about parts availability and service.
My neighbors with Generac have had terrible experiences.

Honda
I see you’ve been downvoted. I remember the shell Houston Open in 2005. Honda generators powering the cameras on the booms. The ones that get fairway shots etc.
This was during a PGA event. Quiet enough for that and this was in 2005. When people were just starting to think about making them quiet.

Generac is garbage. Kohler is the way to go. I have a 40kw Coleman 2001 model with a Chevy v-6 engine that runs like a champ. Unfortunately, they dont make them anymore. I also have a 25kw Katolite 2009 model that is exceptional as well with a 4 cylinder isuzi engine. It runs great, but I don’t know if they are still in business.
Several of my neighbors have Generacs that were installed within the last 3-5 years. They have problems with them after running nonstop for a few days.
I have been without power from hurricanes, once for 18 days and another for 16 days. They both ran without problems the entire time. When I have to replace them it will be with a Kohler.
