James Coburn, Charles Bronson and others. It makes you realize how much Hollywood has gone to shite. They don’t make them like that anymore. Sad.

Hollywood, in general, has been out of ideas for decades.

Kind of like the difference from The Seven Samurai to The Magnificent Seven ?

Ironic comment given the OP's subject matter

The “in general” qualifier is there for a reason.

Hateful Eight was pretty damn good IMO
3:10 to Yuma was badass
Ballad of Buster Scruggs is pure genius

I lump Hell or High Water into the western genre as well, as the scenery was a character in itself. Badass cast, soundtrack, gunfights, desperate action by desperate men.

Wait until you find the old Johnny Carson shows and see the drinking and smoking that went on.

If you’re in that era, go check out the Great Escape. Similar cast. Bomb arse movie.

That was Rick Dalton’s masterclass in acting.

My dad's favorite movie scene when he was a kid was when Robert Vaughn walks into the room and instantly shoots 3 guys before they can even reach their guns.
It was cool to see him re-create the role in Battle Beyond the Stars.
