I'll be watching, rooting for Bossier.

The LA team just needed the New York squad to NOT lose 14-0 to advance over North Carolina. If there wasn't a run-rule they would 100% have blown it for LA, but the 5 inning 10 run rule ended the game at 11-0. What a crazy circumstance that was.

While that's true LA beat that NY team 14-1 in just 5 innings and without a run rule could also have won by much more. So both LA and NC had their games shortened to 5 innings against NY.
In fact in that common run rule game LA only batted 4 times because they were the home team vs 5 at bats for NC.

That's true. That NY team was really bad, I'm surprised they were able to make it all the way to Shelby.

Bossier had good teams back in the 70s and 80s. Good to see them back to relavence.

Root for Caden Schindler, I work very closely with his dad! He's a good kid and a legit baller.

Lots of Benton kids on that LA team. There’s some real good ball that’s been played in NWLA for years now.

I had the same thought. Like if this is the best of that region I'd hate to see the teams they beat.

Ironically I think Bossier feels more like Texas and League City more like Louisiana.

I'm thrilled to see American Legion is still a thing. I loved it as a kid but I had assumed USSSA and travel ball had killed it.

I watched a little of the NY vs NC game and they talked about how every kid on the NY team was committed to play college ball somewhere. Nearly all JUCOs up in that area, but man they weren't good.

It was still going strong in the NOLA area until COVID. It’s down to 8-10 teams statewide now.

In South Louisiana it is dead. It is a shame, because with combined high schools and college freshman returning to play, it was a higher level of baseball than average high school games.

He looks 20. How old is this division?

in my current area (kansas city area) the high level kids dont even play high school ball anymore. They just do travel ball all year.

Saw a Facebook post the other day that Gauthier and Amadee is coming back. Hopefully this picks back up in Ascension after falling off the last few years.

The I-55 corridor south of St Louis still has a pretty strong Legion presence. Especially around Cape Girardeau. It's all these kids from 1 or 2 local high schools that play 2 or 3 sports throughout the school year and then Legion in the summer. It's really a throwback.
But they end up with some good teams and every once in a while you end up with some good talent. A lot will end up at JUCO, small D1, or D2. Some strong JUCO and D2 baseball in Missouri, especially at Crowder and Central Missouri, respectively.

It's sad because it's such a money grab for the travel orgs. They know damn good and well there are probably less than 10 guys in the state each year that need to step up to national competition. The rest would be just fine playing legion.
