Scottie is obviously the best, no issues there

Glad Bryson is in and they can’t find a way to not pick him, he’s probably the 2nd best American right now.

Xander Schauffele Is fine, hopefully he finds his old form

JJ Spaun is underwhelming, he’s been on a heater but I’m not sold at all

Russell Henley and Harris English are the definition of meh.

I don’t have a better answer, they qualified so they’re in. And even if they didn’t, I’m not really sold on most of the guys right behind them either.

I'm not really worried about any of the automatic qualifiers other than maybe Xander. My biggest concern is Morikawa followed closely by JT. Both are huge names they probably won't leave at home, but both have been playing very poorly

The crowd is gonna win this one for us. They'll be incredibly brutal to the Euros. And they won't be able to take it. Rory and Rahm especially.

I don’t know, I feel like every time I think this in a Ryder cup the Europeans find a way to use the crowd hate to fuel them even more. It’s our guys that always get beat down by the Euro crowds, at least we won’t have to deal with that this year

They’ve earned it.

I would say SS and BD are really big stars.

Playing on home soil, I give us a good chance to win.

Maybe one of the new guys will become a star.

On the European side Rory and Rahm are the big stars.

Rose has played really good this year.

I don’t see a 28-0 rout either way.

People forget Tiger Woods was 13-21-3 in Ryder Cup.

He’s still the GOAT, but match play four ball and foursomes and even head to head are a different animal.

Phil Mickelson was slightly better, but still had a losing record.
Fred Couples 7-9-4.

Meanwhile Sergio is the point leader since 1979 Ryder Cup.
.
I’m sure the Americans want to win, but since 1979, Europe has seems to find more guys playing over the heads during that competition.

Ian Poulter 15-8-2.
Crazy good at match play in his day.

Honestly think Burns should be a pick. He’s really good with match play and he’s been great lately.

I am not going to argue that Spaun is a better golfer than Xander, but I have way more confidence in JJ right now. He is not just on a heater. He is 2 very, very small breaks away from being a 3 time winner this year in the months of March, July, and August. I was worried that the US Open would solidify a spot for a guy that doesn't really have it, but he has proven me wrong this past month.

The last 2 home Ryder Cups, the USA beat the shite out of Europe. The Euros have also complained about the behavior of the fans in both. I am not justifying the fan behavior, either. I'd rather that not be what we are known for every 4 years, but it has influenced the Euros.

I don’t think that team is bad, it’s just different names than we’re used to seeing. I think that’s a good thing though.

Also agree with Burns being on the team. He’s a course fit and a team fit and is playing well. Burns, Cam Young, and McNealy I think end up filling out the team.

Keegan probably takes a step back from being a playing captain and just captains the team.

I've heard an interesting argument that I think rings true. Euros are the best players in their countries. So, it seems like they have more of a luster. For instance, look at the Hojgaard twins. They didn't even make the top 70 this year, but they have more recognizable names than, say, Ben Griffin. Ben Griffin has been way better than both of them this year.

There are few things worse on the planet than US Ryder Cup fans. I love the RC and obviously root hard for the Americans, but the US fans have made it hard to watch. I can't imagine being one of the players.

Huge difference in the Euro fans and US fans. Euros get loud without being just complete arse clowns and still show some respect to the opposing golfers.

What has Xander done this year to make you say he is fine but you're not sold on JJ?

Well, maybe that bodes well for us this year. Many times, the European Team look underwhelming, and they spanked our rear ends.

Well, Bob is already pissed off from being heckled at the BMW.

Personally I love what I’ve seen from him and hope he gets good enough to challenge Scotty regularly.

Did y’all see when he sunk that putt Saturday and turned around a shushed a fan? Good stuff.

Not much this year, just overall body of work, 2 majors, Olympic gold, tour championship etc… I agree he’s played poorly recently but he has close to a decade of accolades that shows he can do it.

JJ Spaun spent 10 years on tour before his first win, and he only has 2 wins on the PGA albeit one of them was the US Open this year. He deserves to be on the team 100%, I’m just saying there’s a good chance he’s a flash in the pan on a heater and will fade away soon. Hopefully that doesn’t happen at the Ryder Cup

I like that he has visible sunscreen all over his face and arms and is still getting red. He’s a fricking character.

At what point would it just be easier for him to wear a wide brimmed hat and wear sleeves? It seems kind of silly to look like a baker covered in flour all day when there are more efficient options.

Bob . . . probably the first Ryder Cup member from McNeese State!

. I would say that is a pretty safe assumption.
