Which leftist state would you rather move to today?

Colorado has legal weed, hippies, beautiful mountains, but it is also pretty dry. Somewhat of a cowboy vibe in the rural parts that is fading. Some beautiful small skiing towns. Realistically most would probably have to live in Denver or the front range though for work.

Maryland probably has legal weed too, more of a mid Atlantic vibe, some similarities with the south but also more of an east coast vibe. They have more old history, close to other east coast places, and the beach in their back yard. Not all that far from the mountains either.

What say you?

I could do rural Maryland out in the mountains, or right up on the bay as far from Baltimore and DC as I could get.

Nothing about Colorado piques my interest.

I would much rather do Montana or Wyoming than Colorado, at least from an outdoors standpoint

Maryland is cold in winter, hot/humid in summer, expensive, tons of “culture”, tons of snobby over educated liberals, and next to DC.

Might be the last state I want to live in.

Colorado hands down. Denver is overrated, but I could live in Fort Collins, Co Springs, Loveland etc & be happy.

Honestly the rural people in both states are conservative. The cities/leftist suburbs dominate though

Maryland on the Chesapeake or Colorado outside of Denver or Boulder would be fine places to live.

Annapolis looks beautiful but I’ve heard the people are the worst

I spent time in Grand Junction/Monrose.

Tons of good baws out there.

Too many hippies moved to that state and infiltrated Denver & some of the small towns

I could find places in both states to live comfortably... just not Baltimore or Denver.

ETA: Or DC area.

Colorado easily.

You’ll hopefully find me along the Taylor or Dolores River in a few years.

Daughter lived in Md for 3 yrs. Moved back to Alabama in '24.
High taxes. Expensive everything. Nanny state. Too many cars in too few roads.

Deep Creek Lake area is nice.

They get some crazy snowstorms out there though.

I-68 that runs through western MD is probably my second least favorite interstate to drive on right behind 95 lol

We looked at Annapolis as a retirement site and subscribed to the local news paper for six months. Even with the Naval Academy there, the way the city was run wasn't very enticing.
OTOH, as I've gotten older (this happens to all of us, just wait) I find that being mile high I feel the lighter air and wish I could get more air faster. wheezing is no fun. That's why Denver and Boulder are no longer fun, that and the weed centric world that's evolving there.
