AT&T hit with class action lawsuit over data breaches

Anyone plan on joining in on this?
It says if you were affected by both breaches you are eligible up to $7500.
Anyone ever have any success with these?
I’ve always been wary joining them when presented, but don’t have any real reason why.

$7500, sure. I'll probably end up getting $3.50 and a year of identity theft protection.

Any of these class actions that I have ever joined, I was lucky if I got $5, the lawyers get all the money.

eligible up to $7500.
It's complete bullshite.
Say if you spent $10,000 fixing your credit and changing stuff around (your time counts too), you only get 75% of your damages.
If someone is really out of pocket more than $7500, call a real lawyer (not the billboard kind) and get paid what you are owed.

The first data breach, announced in March 2024, affected 73 million current and former AT&T account holders whose information — including birth dates and Social Security numbers — was found in a dataset on the dark web.
Meh, I always assume my SSN is out there. Everyone should assume this.

The second data breach, announced in July 2024, involved hackers unlawfully downloading AT&T data from a third-party cloud platform, exposing the records of calls and texts "nearly all" of AT&T's cellular customers.
But this is different. ATT is very negligent not storing such info in an encrypted form. No data like this should just be sitting in the cloud unprotected.
BRB, I am finna collect my $7500.

Yep, I filed the claim as soon as I got the email from Kroll

Sprinkle in the inevitable "saw-dee"
Side note: I've been a AT&T customer for a few years now, not seeing an email

**Up to. Expect $6 10 years down the road. Data breaches are so common and the companies not held accountable, it should be criminal. Shoot, even Pacer was hacked and you’d think alot of folks would be screaming on that one. How long bf threats from a buyer of info to reveal your personal info if not paid? If you were ever involved in a suit available to pacer? Assume no privacy, it’s unfortunate.

Apart from having your identity stolen and affecting your credit is there any other way to be effected?
I have AT&T and curious if there is any point in applying considering my identity hasn’t been stolen. Also I’m sure I’ll be paying for the settlement with increase in my bill over upcoming years.
