We have ~200k Chase points that I'd like to move to Hyatt for a trip next year in May somewhere that would be good for outdoor activities. Was thinking Lake Tahoe but saw that Hyatt resort there is going through a renovation until 2027 and the beach is closed because of it. What other properties/locations would you recommend? Bonus points for easy travel getting there from MSY

The Alila Ventana Big Sur. Lots of outdoor options in that area, and the hotel is all inclusive. Not the easiest to get to, but not too bad. Finding point availability can be tough if not booking right when the schedule opens. Another option in that area is the Hyatt Carmel Highlands. I would also think some of the ski properties have good summer hiking options (Vail, Beaver Creek, Park City).

Alila Ventana Big Sur
You can pair it with a stay at the Regency or Carmel Highlands if you wanted time in Monterey or Carmel also

Or look into the Miraval - Tucson, Austin, or Berkshires

I know these people all say Big Sur but it's adults only so if you were planning on bringing kids, well you can't. I've recently done research on this same topic, and this is basically the list. I've been to Kauai, Beaver Creek, and Tahoe properties.

Grand Hyatt Kauai

Park Hyatt Beaver Creek maybe (I've been in Winter but most ski mountains have hiking).

Grand Hyatt Vail

Tahoe is a great one but renovations are an issue.

The Lodge at Spruce Creek Vermont

Suncadia Resort Washington

Saw a mention of Hyatt Place Moab but being a Hyatt Place may not be the type of stay amenities you're looking for.

From here, you start getting to properties where you may be near hiking where you may need to drive out an hour or so from an urban area. The list expands if that's OK with you.

A lot of the vacation towns in CO mentioned above have vacation rentals too, so you can get a cabin. Tahoe is a pain to get to from MSY, connecting flight and a long drive from the airport. In my younger days I did Hyatt Place Keystone which was 15k/night and almost but not quite ski in/ski out and amazing value to stay in Keystone, but not sure what it's like in the summer and you probably can do something a bit more upscale with 200K.

This place looks excellent - I think we are down between one of the Colorado ski area Hyatts or this one near Austin. Love hiking around the Rockies but getting to this Austin one would be stupid easy. And very easy drive into downtown if the wife and I want to do an evening in the city.

Just be sure and go before Texas schools get out for the summer. That Hyatt is overrun wth kids during the summer break.
